well, im lucky i guess, i really didnt build anything around the eyes back up. i was careful enough when dremeling that the lens fit well without any rebuild of eyes. i could of put a lil bit here and there where there was just a hint of a gap, but where it was was olong the bottom edges. and im tall enough when wearin the suit you cant see the bottom edge anyways.
trik is with the pc-7 do-clo is only use a lil at a time. a lot will take longer to dry and droop on you. use just a lil bit then it should dry in less time and not droop so much.
no seth, just bout all of them are the same. i will go with the mods i made on mine and look for another one cheap as i said cwgift sells them for 45 to 65 bucks on ebay. and i will go through the entire modding on that helmet. and i can go slow and easy work it over as i have time to, and money, as i said before tho, it really dont cost too much to improve it, just labor and time mostly.
if it takes me a whole year from once i get another, so be it. i have the suits modded helmet for now. it will be just fine.
i was kinda eyeing a couple polyuratrhene, spelled wrong i know, helmets. lil expensive tho. but cheaper than fiberglass ones. seeing them for 300 to 400. fibers are running 500 to 900.
maybe a consideration on the poly U's.?

When I completed my costume at halloween last year, all the helmet I had was a voice changer helmet that I cut the chest box from.(ran out of $$$) People still were following me around. I actually wore it to meijer that night for a dvd release party and won the costume contest they had. People were on there phones saying Darth Vader was at meijer. It was cool. When I got my supreme helmet it put the other to shame really. Its more intimidating I quess you could say. I put both helmets on for comparison and my family laughed when I had the little one on. So I quess it could be worse.

Lan it doesn't matter on the pc7 if you use a little or a lot it will still take the same dry time and it should sit for a 48 hours before trying to sand it. Great stuff you just can't work quick with it. I used the heat gun to take the rest of the neck flare out so it now looks pretty good and I reshaped the curve on the new lens with the heat gun to make it fit better. I never noticed the the droopy left cheek until I sprayed some primer on the mask today, and it stuck out.
I have been reading up on the 501st and I still haven't gotten a list of what is required for the ROTS vader but I have a good idea and it pretty much means replace or rebuild most of the costume. It also appears that if your are doing a ROTS vader you will need the ROTS vader lightsaber that was never seen or used in the movie but it was built by MR in a LE model.[:p]

They haven't offically annouced the standards yet, but that is the way it is starting to look that you should have the approprate lightsaber for the style of vader that you are doing. So one would have to build it or buy a MR LE to hang on your belt.[:p]

well, i dont give a crud what they say. im hangin my vader anh led saber on my belt hook, and firin that puppy up at the con.
glad to hear at least you got the neck flare taken care of do-clo.
mine still flares a lil bit, but triming it up to fit me took off some of that and it looks better than it did. and since i just paid and will be gettin jedijeffrey brace today, i will fit that to the helmet, hopefully it will fit better than wolverines did. i may have to take a lil bit off one backedge to get it to center up. will see when i try it.
at least i know this much, since your doin the full mods to yours i can go off what your doin to guide me along on mine. and with that and those tutorials i sent ya on it, should work out good.
looks like the hardest parts are gonna be the flare and the face droop. but i can take my time on one when i get another helmet.
i have been keepin an eye on a couple fiber masks. right now fairly cheap one at 129 and the other at 150. both look good. i wished i could snatch up that older mask thats on there. the holy grail of helmets one. but that suckers up there in price right now. and i think its still under the reserve too. that guy must want a grand for that thing.

Does "appropriate saber" mean getting an MPP? Real ones... well, I've seen one ever for $450 and the replicas aren't cheap. Heilands are much easier to get and only close inspection one can tell.

I believe they mean a saber in the correct style as a heiland is very close to correct I am sure that would pass, and if your were to build one from scratch using a sink tube and make it correct that would be ok I believe, the big thing is they want every piece to correct for version of vader. But in another statement they claim to not mind a vader with mixed parts as they call it, so to me it appears to be an all out attack againist the rubies vader costume. I may take a shot at membership when my costume is finished just to see what they say. Unfortunately in my area there are no other groups that I have found by web searching and I would like to be invovled in charity events, it is a lot tougher to go it on your own.

Those pictures were preliminary shots, just to show what it looks like with the helmet.
I've since made the mods to fit it properly. [^]
I'm just tired of the slop job they did on this mask & helmet. I know the fiberglass one is the way I'll go sooner, or later. The fiberglass helmets are more universally recognized as being completely accurate, just have to make sure it's painted correctly. [:p]

The whole thing is, you have to trim down the neck on the mask, AFTER you fit the neck brace on, so you can ensure they line up. [:(][}:)]

This may be a dumb question, Can you replace the lenses without filling the eye sockets? And you guys have bought different colors of lenses, which ones look the best? Ive seen the pics of the actually lenses but not in an actual helmet.

The lens we all have requires the removal of material to fit the lens in the helmet, I think lan got smoke and I have the grey, they have a ruby color that is really good. The rubies lens go in from the outside and the new lens goes in from the inside. Trik toys had some replacement lens that go in just like the stock ones with no cutting required but if I got those I would still trim some of the material out to improve your field of vision.
Hey I voted for you brother.[:p]

well seth, on mine all i did was be very careful and do the trimming of that lip aropund the eye sockets. i didnt add any filler. i got mine to actually fit pretty well. i epoxied a small block of nylon in the bridge of the nose. the lil middle hole in the lens lined up on that block which i drilled a hole and placed a small screw thru lens into block. tightned it just enough to be secure. along with some hotglue around the outside edges of lens. it stays in there pretty well. and only a minor lil gap, you cant see along bottom edges of eye sockets. unless your 6 foot 9 you cant even see them.
brace is su[pposed to be on its way monday. so i should have plenty of time to fit it.
i have already doen all that triming and neck fitting, im hoping it will fit up with just minor tweaking. it should, since ive done alot of fixing in that area already.
oh, and like the smoke ones from the lens guy we got ours from. do-clo likes his grey ones. depends on what type helmet ya want. one style had the red lens. pik one and go with it.
so seth, how much of a vader outfit ya got? the whol;e thing, or are ya doing like do-clo, piece at a time?

which one? wolverine has more better pics of his right now, all i got is the one in my sig for now. but i have a digitalcamera now and plan on takin some good pics of the whole suit, plus shots of the mods areas if anyone wishes. wolverines suit looks pretty darn good for not doing much more than reworkin the helmet some. i think he got lucky on that.
on mine i added some velcro here and there to make stuff stay put better, and added a high dollar voice/breathin system. lots of reworkin on the helmet. as you will see readin through my thread here. i did, with do-clos help, scratch build a whole new set of boxes with lights and billet knobs and correct square lens and ANH red globe light.
i posted those pics in comparison with the first try i done. used a aluminum set, they just looked to squarish to me. if ya get what i mean.
do-clo's workin on his piece by piece, and thats another option top go puttin one together. nuttin wrong with that at all.
yeah, it would be great if those darn fiber helmets were a lil bit more affordable, but i just cant see payin as much for a helmet as my whole suit cost. its ridiculous. ya know, i am thinkin bout gettin another supreme helmet to do the full rework on, and i juast thought, i might try to use it as a mold of sorts, to make my own fiber helmet off it. make the corrections to the original with whatever it takes to do that, the pc-7 probably, get it all shaped right, then use it to mold a fiber helmet. cant see why i couldnt do it.
do-clo, might be an option for you, since your doing the whole fix to yours. get it shaped right and mold a fiber off it.
just a thought,suggestion for ya.
i talked to jeff and he told me he was tryin to make a upper reveal section to use with his detaled chin section. but he wants to try and get the price on it low enough so its more affordable than a high dollar fiber helmet. i asked himm if he might think of doin the setup as a complete unfinished kit. waitin for a reply back. a full reveal helmet at a cheaper price we would have to finish/paint/glue the bits on would be a great help to us.
well, brace is on its way, and that real grease gun flash hider should be here pretty quick too. then i just need to save up enough to get the rest of the metal parts from blast-tech to do the han solo blaster convert. if i didnt say it already, im goin for the greedo killer style. you dont hardly ever see that one around. every one goes for esb/rotj style. the kit is cheaper, but everyone has that one, if ya get my meaning.

My costume is many different parts but it all seems to work to together, I am going for a ROTS look overall which will be different since most of the others are ANH, ESB, ROTJ. I got a ANH style chest box coming which will look like the ROTS once I am done with it and the helmet is another story. I would love to get a better helmet but the cost is really a problem, I thought about making a mold but the rubies is so poor even with all of the rework it still will fall short. I got the chest armor all sanded and will get some primer on it soon, then I will have to get the silver and black paint for it. I will have to get a leather suit which will be one on the bigger things to buy but one piece at a time and it will all come together.
I checked the local 501st and they don't have a vader so maybe that will work in my favor[?]

Hey Lan I got a new epoxy for you. It hardens almost immediatly and can be drilled and tapped also. It's from 3M's Duramix division and the part number is 4747. It cost about $100 to get started but you get 10 tubes plus the applicator gun. It is also available on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3M-DURAMIX-SUPER-FAST-PLASTIC-REPAIR-ADHESIVE-Urethane_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ63702QQitemZ46 37122952QQtcZphoto
We use this stuff for everything including my Vader helmet will be modded with it. It should speed up the process. Once you have the gun (it's free they just want you to buy 10) it does not cost much for the refill. It sands great; powders does not roll;
The Brotherhood of the Sith doesn't have two days to wait on epoxy. We shall do what we must and SHOW NO MERCY! Not watch glue dry LOL

Lest we forget, I did the mod on the chest box to put the lights in correct orientation, I put new strap slits in the suit itself, making the chestbox sit where it should set, (slightly below the armour), as well as the few mods that were made to the helmet, and adding and modding the neckbrace. [:D][8D]
I have yet to decide if I'm going to commit myself to working on the helmet as much as you and Do-Clo did, or just get the fiberglass one, and the ESB armour, and chestbox, and call it there! [:0][:p]

Been working[:(]. Now I'm starting to dig in on my costume. I might as well start at the Top. I have two Ruby's helmets and the are at identical levels of suck! All the lines are crooked, the neck is lopsided, and when do i stop. I'm thinking of laying fiberglass matte on the outer helmet cause it is darn crooked. Could sombody post the exact paint schemes. I am having a hard time with that. I have all the Billet pieces for the chest box overhaul and the billet knobs for the belt boxes. I have a buckle and a leather cod piece although it looks kinda big but i'll get to that later. I would love to have a 2 piece suit. I'd hate to have to ask my wife to help me in the rest room.LOL

lookin really good there do-clo. the neck looks pretty straight now. im impressed. so i take it you got jeff's brace then too? mines on the way.
i got the claws mounted to collar, but the propane torch wouldnt get it hot enough to weld them with that rod i got. so i need to try a acetelene torch. it gets hotter. right now they are held on with a small button head in the front and hole drilled and tapped into bottom of arm. that one clears tims holder just perfect. the other end is the prob.
i went ahead and drilled a hole down thru arm into collar. and i will use a longer buttonhead screw there. tighten it all down, then take it over to my dads house, i think he still has a torch setup there. i can use it to weld them on, and fill in those holes i drilled. then just grind it all back down smooth again.
i might be able to get it done in a few weeks. maybe in time for the con next month.
the brace was mailed mon. so i might have it by the weekend to get it fit up. also that grease gun flash hider come in. i will need to do a lil work on the back end of it. its not quite right and i think i might be able to make up something with some aluminm pipe and use that weld rod i got to weld it up. if not, then a set screw setup will suffice.
im going to the ren fair this weekend in muskogee. im dressing up in my pirate outfit. i'll get pics and post them. and i still need to fit up the added velcro parts i added to the vader suit. i got the idea from one i seen on ebay. got me to thinkin i can put one behind the top back side of chest box to solve that droop and help it stay in place when i take the straps off. and i need to add some to backside bottom edges of belt boxes to help with cod alignment. then i'll have a 3 point connection between belt and cod. i addes a couple pieces to the shoulder armor that will attach to edge of cape to help keep the cape in place. i had a time with it wantin to go back and under the edge and get caught under it of the shoudler armor in back between the bells and armor. this might fix that. i will have to sew the one side of velcro to cape as i dont think the sticky will stay.
wolverine, i knew you done some mods but i didnt think you had done as much as me or do-clo has done.
glad to see you back Tet. that epoxy stuff seems like it will work pretty good. when i get another helmet to do full rework to, i may just get that. kinda depends on the wife too. i spend too much, she gets angry with me. she wasnt happy about me buying the brace, but it'll pass. specially when she sees it mounted on the helmet.

well, in that case i will try to break out the suit this weekend then, and take some shots. do you want to see the entire run of mods along with a suit pic or 2 or anything in paticular i can try to get?
i already posted a pic of the new boxes i redone. but not with me wearing it. and also the voice system.
if the brace comes in, i will try to get that setup, then take some pics assuming it comes in fri. or sat. i'll be gone to the ren fair sun. from 7:30am to 8pm.
im hopin it shows up fri. then i will get it done by that night.

Lan I got the neckbrace from jeff, he had one listed with a buy it now so I splurged and bought it. I worked on the helmet more last night trying to smooth up the imperfections and I am still working on the left cheek as I am trying to get it to match the right side, I am working on the curve that that comes up and blends into the nose on the bottom. I have done a lot of automotive body work but I never dreamed I would by doing the same thing to a helmet one day. I will post some pics when I start to get the parts finished as I seem to work on everyting else but my stuff.

I thought the Don Post was the Rubies.[?] It's just degraded because Post never took care of the molds and neither did Rubies when they got them.

Don Post made the original helmets and there were three type of vader the standard which is smaller, the classic action which is the larger one and both of these are made from abs plastic and then the classic action in fibeglass. Don post is no longer around, I am not sure if was before rubies got the deal or after anyway rubies now makes the standard and supreme helmet both out of abs plastic. The don post helmets are very good as they spent the time in the extra detail rubies just cranks them out and if you look close you can see the imperfections.

Been Working on the outer helmet today. All of the lines have some sort of issue especially the back. I have been blockin it with 180 grit and i beleive there is enough plastic to get them in line. I'm thinking of making my own mold after i straighten mine out. Then I can produce a fiberglass model that would be ready to paint. i do like the weight of the plastic though. Keep you guys posted on progress and try to get some pics.

cool i seen them seth. yeah, the guys are right, that cod just looks way too tall for some reason. makes it look like you have a short lil body and mile long legs. lol trim that down or get a different one, and you'll be good to go.
cool do-clo, now 3 of us have the brace. mine come in, but it required sig, so i wasnt up to get it, ill have to run by post office to get it tommorrow on way in to work.
and from what i understood, and read, the rubies are the don post molds. they were handed over to rubies when post lost the license to make them. and yeah, the molds were getting bad, and tubies never bothered to fix them or post either, thus, the warped helmets. the classic action is considered to be the holy grail of the helmets.
rubies took over shortly after post faded away, lol into the fog. the deluxe rubies is the next one in line as a good helmet, with mods of course. the standard, well, crap, i have one myself from years ago when they first come out by post. mine has all the post markings in the dome. it would make a good mod, change a few things here and there, but its a bit small. i had some pading taped up in mine to hold it right on my face. the weak link was and is the velcro they use to hold dome on, it wobbled no matter what ya did.

seth, you might be somewhat right on the shoulder armor, it sorta looks like it might be coming down a lil too far in the front. if ya can take a look at some still shots or watch the movie, i think it is just a lil bit higher up. a bit more like the rubies supreme one.
i will have to watch the movie again, to see how close that chest box is to the armor, like wolverine, i may have to raise that position a bit. i will have to see where it rides on hayden.

i will see what i can do, the brace is at the post office and i will pick it up on way to work tommorrow. i can work on fitting it up frid. then maybe before dark, i can go outside, weather permitting, it has rained every darn day we get off work, and take some outside shots. if not i'll do it inside the house.
i still would like to have a 1 to 2 inch sole/heel lift on the boots, still have to look round tulsa for a boot repair place that will do it.
wifes kinda gettin irritated with me, since i bought the brace and she told me i dont need it. but, i think once she sees it, she will calm down a bit. ive just about reached my limit on spending for the suit. only thing left i want to do is maybe the boot lifts. everything else is ok, now.
still later, and wife started to get mad, until i explained not right now, but maybe in a few months, buy up another supreme helmet and go thru with the complete mods to it. she eased up a bit.
shes been a trooper all along on the modifications and money i have put out, but i think shes startin to reach her allowing limit. lol

well, there is a bit of a gap there. mine might be just a lil lower than that. ill have to looat it again when i put it on. it might be ok the way it is. from what i remember when i had it on last i think it was pretty close to that position. the added velcro to the back of it will help. mine had a tendency, at the top, to kinda pull out away from suit. the velcro will help keep it against suit.
thanks wolverine, for the photo reference.

well im not sure if it would connect up right to the hyper unit. the mike has to be powered. as well as the speaker. my speaker is powered and i have both the tie clip and headset powered mikes from radio shack.
i made up a lil head harness strap to use the tie clip with, and the head set, well, i couldnt get the helmet on with it, it hit that loop of the headset in the back. so i cut the sucker off at the big oval round part where the mike and wires go in. and hotglued it in place right in the middle just below the lowetr grill. i still retain the flexible mike boom for adjustment. works pretty well. and after playin with both mikes, i have found the tie clip has a better pick up but feedbacks way more. the headset, has a lil less on the sensitivity side, but hardly feedbacks till i get the volume way up.
my main setup is using the headset hotglued in place with that lil orange powered speaker i posted the pics of a ways back.
i would need a lil more info in that one you posted the link to Tet, sounds promising, in a way, but i think it might get in the way of the front neck of helmet.
one thing ya gotta remember bout that throat mike is it was setup for crash helmets, cycle helmets and so on, those dont have a neck front like the vader mask. thats the only thing i see with out knowing more about the actual hookup, might be a problem.
id hate to get it and find that it wont hookup and wont clear the neck right. good idea tho.
and when i was lookin for speakers i found loads of those type on ebay. if thats what you wish to try, might check ebay for one a bit cheaper.
that dude i got the orange speakers from i think still had a few, if you wish, i can try to locate him again, and see if he still has one. they work great, and are way better than the radio shack powered speakers. this ones a 4 watt stereo the radio shack one is not.

I have completed upgrading a fellow Vaders belt boxes to led from normal light bulbs, he had 12 volt bulbs running on 9 volt batteries which didn't last very long. I cut open the backs of the lights and hot glued leds in place. I had to sand the tops of the leds that I put in his green lights to keep from turning them white instead, a little touch with some 320 sand paper made a frosted end which softened the light to make it look right. The boxes now run on two AA batteries each and should run for hours with out running the batteries dead. I have looked at that helmet on Ebay and as Lan said there are a lot of nice helmets on ebay but they are all expensive. My Vader budget is sorta on hold with the purchase of the neckbrace, I really don't tell the wife what things cost and since the money comes from my paypal account she doesn't know how much (if she did I would be in Trouble!!!) but I have to get busy and get some stuff sold. My costume is still missing a few things mainly the leather suit, that is going to cost as I want a real nice one and they aren't cheap. I still have to work out the sound for the suit as I have yet to find something that really works good that I can afford.

i guess ya did it different on his boxes than mine huh? you gave me the circut to use a nine volt with i think, higher output leds. ya know, i didnt think bout frosting the ends of those leds. i wil have to look at that again, i may have to do that to even the light out like you done. at least on those green ones.
im not sure if that would really do anything for the red ones, since they are so darn bright as it is.
or do you think i even need to mess with it at all?

I will post the link and part number when I get home tonight. Sith brother I find myself doing a lot of things to help fund the Vader project. The boxes I just finished upgrading were a pair of home built boxes that look good but the cost of 9 volt batteries to run them were killing him. He is a local guy who has been doing Vader for sometime, I meet him a a Burger King promotion, I waiting until the kids were gone before I talked to him, I didn't want to spoil it for the kids. You should not be taller than Vader. I can see the top of his helmet when looking right at him. He is thinking about upgrading his MR to luxeon also that will be my next project. Lan I used simple resisters on this set up because he is on a budget, and the boxes are the same exact size that you have in plastic and I have in metal. The circuit that I gave you for your lights is much better because it will keep the leds at the same brightness even as the batteries start to go dead. Yours will run on anywhere from 6 volts to 12 volts and still be the same brightness. By the way thanks for the kind comments on the helmet rework sith brothers

ok, i was wonderin if you had done his up differently. i know the setup you showed me on mine is perfect. and im eternally grateful for your help on that. it made the boxes pop right out. i got my brace on the way in to work. looks sweet. and the velcro is in the right place to where i already have it for the other homemade brace.
should fit up good. i noticed that i can adjust trim on the brace ends where the tube ends are to help alignment. may not have to trim helmet at all. i will have to see when i get home.
i might add 1 more piece of velcro to the inside of brace and helmet so that it velcros inside and out. maybe a lil stronger connection that way/ its either that or use a bolt to anchor it.
well, gotta rush back to work, not much of a break this time. later, next break time.

im also still goin to price the cost of a 1 to maybe a 1 1/2 inch complete sole heel lift. it might not run too much.

well, ok brothers. i got the pics today. nice and sunny outside so i put the whole thing on with the sound sytem. it worked super great.
sorry theyre so big.
do-clo i sent ya a email with rubies cod pics and chest box dimensions.
i was still havin a problem withthe shoulder armor flippin up even with the straps you can see in some shots. it was against my throat. and therefore made the gap between the top of chest box and armor larger. when it was down where it was supposed to be, there wasnt as large a gap there, and it looked right, the bottom spacing looks bout right.
i also got some full insole lifts that are only 5/8 of an inch high, just enough to get me high enough for the cape not to ride on floor, and me step on it. theyre on the way, i just gottem yesterday on ebay.
also i found out by taking some measurements. that right now the way it is, from ground to top of dome im right around 6' 7" to 8" tall. add the 5/8 more for the insole lifts and i will be around 6' 9" wearin the suit. not bad for only bein 6' 2" tall in real life. 7" increase with suit on, and i think thats pretty darn close to prowses height. so i will look right.

some shots of the brace installed. if you look close you can see the nut in the end thingies. i bolted mine on. and its just a tad off center still, but i did some trimmin on the brace end on the right side, and some foam fixin in the key fit in the dome. and also i had to add a 2 inch foam block inside the helmet to compensate for the extra weight of the brace.

The suit looks good all put together. The neck brace gives the neck a finished look and the belt boxes look like they were factory made. Next thing will be to amp up the chest box lighting, it looks pale compared to the belt boxes. You would make Vader proud.

i didnt have them on do-clo. i only turned on the belt boxes for that one shot. and i never had the batteries in the chest box.
thanx for the compliments. i have spent alot of time and money gettin this thing as good as i can for now. im still waitin back for word from jeff as to his reveal setup he said he wanted to make. i layed out a idea at him, to make the whole thing as a kit, we would finish it by glueing and sandin and paintin the dome, upper face section and chin section. optional parts would be inside mouth apparatus, and brace, in case like us, we already had one, and all the hardware and greeblies needed to make it. he could sell them at less than a third of what those darn high dollar 700 to 1000 or more helmets are sellin for on ebay.
he said he wants to put one out more affordable to guys like us. so guess i'll sit back and see what he thinks of that idea/ i told him he makes one up like that, i'd buy one in a heartbeat, cuz i wouldnt be spending a fortune on it. and i would end up with a full 4 piece reveal helmet to wear with my suit.

Looks Great LAN, [^]
I had to bolt my neckbrace in too, you can see it here
http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/photoalbum/Wolverine/Helmet01B.jpg
I will paint the bolt black to help conseal mine better. Notice on both of our pictures, where we have installed the neckbrace makes the helmet set funky (rearview).
Both of our neckbraces have to go in more. [:(]
Another thing about the Rubie's helmet, is it doesn't go down as far as it should in back, the neckbrace should be barely visible, untill whoever's wearing it looks down. I'm going to try lowering the "alignment key" in back, so the helmet sets lower over the shoulders. I know I will eventually go with a fiberglass helmet, which the neckbrace will then become a part of that setup. This Rubie's helmet really has me fuming. [}:)]
Overall Though LAN, it looks GREAT, really, really, really BIG pictures [:D][8D] Very clear makes all your modding done easier to examine. I'd have to say, a fantastic job on the belt boxes, they look like they were professionally made. [^] The only critisism I have, is that the chestbox looks too low, and that's easily fixed. but other than that, your Vader looks quite awesome [^]

the reason it looked so low is the stupid armor was flippin up in my throat again. so it was raised up a couple inches higher than it was to start with. the wind was blowing the cape back over my shoulders causin the weight of it to pull the armor back thius liftin it higher in front. when i put it on in the house, it was right. about the same gap amount as the movie pic you posted here.
i may need to go back to the other method of holding it down like i first had. and thats runnin the straps down to 2 loops with a buckle half i made that the cod belt slips thru. then run them down, instead of back under and around my back, to the loops/buckles. tension it up and let the inner robe completely hide the straps. as you seen, you can see them in a few shots. and i did apologise for the bigness of them. i just uploaded to photobucket and pasted them here. the didnt resize smaller because they werent bigger than 1 mb in size.
thanx for the compliments and kind words brothers. it makes me feel good to know ive done a good job on it. and i am impressed at how well those boxes turned out. i like them better than the aluminum ones which looked to square from a distance and bigger too.
and yeah tet, i seen those helmets and that suit i had an eye on them. the costume junkies one has been run thru several times, cuz noone can afford it. it is sweet tho. and i did, on the first time thru, on that fiber helmet, put a bid but was quickly out done. it has gotten up there, but apparently the guy wants alot on the reserve for it. thus, the 2nd, and i think this may be the 3rd time thru. thats why im hoping Jeff comes up with that reveal setup. as i layed out a idea he could go with on it. tet, sincve you got the chin part already, that was part of my idea, to sell it in a kit form we complete, all the pieces, and if we already had a brace, then we just get the rest, if you have the chin, then you just get the rest. im waitin to see what he thinks about it. so hang on to that chin part, if he comes up with the kit, then your part way there. he did say to me, that he wanted to make a reveal helmet, cheap enough that we all could afford it, so thats why i layed that idea out, in a kit, we finish, all parts provided, he could sellem cheaper and we could get a nice reveal helmet at a fraction of those freakin high dollar suckers on ebay. i asked what he thought also how much something in that regard would cost us. just waitin to hear back.
wolverine, in my pics, the close up ones on the side of the brace you can see i drilled a hole thru the end round thingys and bolted them on there. 2 bolts each side, it aint goin nowhere. i did have to remove some on the top right hand side tubing on brace with a exacto knife, so it would pull in further on the right and center up more.
i got it pretty darn close. its the dome thats kinda turned just a bit to one side still. not bad tho, she didnt take a straight on back shot like i wanted to show ya, but slightly from the left. when you hold it up i can see the midband is only bout a 1/4 inch off from the center of the brace. and the brace is centered to the mask.
wolverine, sweet lookin sig man. i will use it. its just so cool. thanx bro.

well, i did have some still pics of the ren faire and my pirate outfit, i also took almost an hour of camcorder footage. i was tryin to get it on the computer, successfully, and get it to burn to a dvd. but i had an error come up saying i was outta room on hd. so i checked and run the defragger, i was down from 69 percent to 1 percent, on the os side. and the defragger wouldnt defrag it. i had red all ove rthe place. best i got it to was 6 percent. i couldnt figure out what happened. so i have to do a reghost image tommorrow. i lost most of the current stuff. i will have to get the camera device driver again, luckily, i had uploaded the vader pics to photobucket, i can gettem back from there. but i lost my tiger woods golf saves, i had my guy up there playin better than tiger himself.
a few other things too. my ghost is 3 months old, so i got alot of reupdating to do as well. , after i get it back to par, i wil make another ghost image. i have to work tonight and tommorrow, and i will run the reimage when i get home in the morning. but it will have to wait till wednesday morning till i can go online and get everything updated again, im lookin at a few hours i think, and get the camera working too. hopefully by wed. night i'll be back up an running at home. so, for next 3 days or so, i wont be online, at least on here till wed night, hopefully. i will get on here thru work tho, tonight and tommorrow night.
i plan on goin back to the ren faire again next weekend, not this one, i have to work. and i will get the pirate outfit pics then. i found a possible vest there that will work well, and may get it for the outfit anyways.
still got the footage on tape, but i erased the other cameras disk after i put them on hd. lost those stills, but i plan on goin back next weekend. i can redo most of the pics i lost. famous person was there, she will be there again. her name is Heather Alexander

I've blocked the line on the back and will probably add material cause its almost straight but is getting thin. The ridge on the helmet is also an issue. I'm going to straighten the bottom of it by infrared heat; then cut off the part that won't let me turn my head. I hope i can get another fiberglass model. I know what you mean on the rubies I had to use a heat gun to soften the neck plastic to get it molded right. I hear the The MR helmet is very nice but it is a little expensive average cost is about $750.00
I may look at a fiberglass helmet or maybe another option that I have been watching which is a urethane helmet.

Well I have just keep cuting and sanding till I get it close. I took about 1/2 inch off the bottom of the neck on each side after fixing the neck flare, The corners of the mask were digging into my shoulders. Then I took a file to the front grille vents and made them square instead of round. With each cut it gets a little easier to whack on it. I think the right side will end up getting trimmed to make it correct instead of cutting on the neck brace after all it cost more than the helmet.[:p]

if i had the money,(yeah, i know, when i started this mess, i was lucky to have a load to spend) and money was not a problem for me,(its all gone now, have to save for anything else i might need. ) i would have already just got that classic action that was on ebay. you dont see many of them suckers goin round. ive only seen 2 of them. with the couple of small tweaks i discovered saturday morning in the photo shoot, the only thing that would make the suit better is a nicer helmet. guess i'll have to start savin up to get a quality fiberglass bucket.

kinda looks like a classic clone. without the full side ribs, for the dome. it also, from that angle looks like the face or the neck is screwed. it looks lopsided. i added to your question tho, to what the heck you meant.

I looks like a helmet made from a mold of the DP classic action plastic helmet. It has many of the problems that the plastic helmets have such as the dropping left check and the spreading left side of the neck. That one is not worth the money you would end up having to fix it like the rubies and being fiberglass you just can't heat it and bend it.

well, my reinstate ghost image failed this morning. it was reghostin the 2nd partition and i got an error. so i will either reghost the first primary, OS partition from that set, and pull the 2nd partion from a slightly older ghost image, or just pull the whole ghost image off the older ghost. problem with that is my older ghost image is back in the tail end of november. so there will be a LOT of catching up to do, if that ghost reinstates ok. i will have to get after it in the morning after i get off work tonight. i got a LOOOONG night and day ahead of me, it looks like. and i didnt get much sleep today. i stayed up to 9 this morning and got up to go to work at 3 this afternoon. and it looks like i'll be up all through tommorrow. boocoos of updates i'll have to catch up on and get it back up to snuff again.
so after tonight i might not be back on here till late wed. night, if that, maybe not till thursday sometime. brothers. please wish me luck and speedy recovery in this endeavor. im on dialup, so updates will be extremely lengthy.

Lan you are in for it brother as it will be a trying challenge doing the updates on dial up. I bought a Vader phrase module on ebay and it has a breathing track that will play continous so if it sounds good it should be able to replace a cd player, which will be one less thing to rig. It looks like it may fit into the chest box and I will mount the speaker there also.

ive seen them before when i was searchin around for the voice system i ended up with. i cant say for sure if it would work like you want it to, and yet be portable enough to conceal in the costume. the concealment was a main issue. nothin worse than vader walking round with a huge bulge on his back lookin like a hunchback with the voice system poking up under the cape.
do-clo, yeah i know, im in for several hours after i get off work tonight. i plan, before i ever start, that it will take me all day to get the system back inline. then, i will run a current ghost after im done,. like i shoulda done a month ago. now that im looking at a possible reghost of back last november instead of this last feb, because of the 2nd paertition read error on the backup disk.
also, the phrase thingy you got, i seen that, didnt seem to bad to me. maybe will work just fine, and maybe the speaker will fit in the chest box, since your scratch building you can incorporate it how you want. i would hide the whole unit inside with a extra switch alongside the one for the box lights itself.
tet, you might do a google on that unit and see if you can dig up a lil more info about it, might be able to decide then if it will work for you.
remember, google is free, but the merchandise is not! wise old sith proverb.

Tetmatek that would work well if it was small enough to fit into the costume without causing a bulge. Also another problem may be how long will it run on a 9 volt battery, since it is designed for a dj or sound system set up they nomally are powered by a 9 volt transformer. I have been looking for a sound system also and I have yet to find one that is small and affordable. The little board I got has some phrases programmed into it but I got it for the breathing sound only. I still have to work out the Vader voice.

The look I'm trying for is a "uniform look" for "The Brotherhood", using the same colors, and using 2 shots of each person's costume, a headshot, and a bodyshot, to show off the hard work we've put into these suits. So I'm trying to stay away from using "stock" Rubie's pictures whenever possible. As soon as Tet, and Do-Clo have Better pictures, they're sigs will be Updated. I think the sig you've done looks fantastic, but that's a stock Rubie's picture, and instead of the imperial logo, we need something that represents "the Brotherhood", if you'd like to design it, be my guest! I bought a Vader neckbrace from you already, and I think you do some fantastic work! There is a group of Rubie's Vader owners on that forum, me being one of them, that are just dying for an answer to this awful Rubie's mask/helmet. He mentioned he had talked with you about it, and everyone went nuts. So far 3 of us have bought the vader neckbrace from you, so you have a very pleased list of clientel, please let me know, and thanks for your time!

well guys i made it back. i spent most of the morning, then grabbed some sleep, i was bushed. then got up and finally got the latest ghost to install. ive spent all night goin back in and rearranging like i had it and reupdating stuff. think im about there now. just finished up windows updates. gotta install one game i have, and then clean it all up and stuff, then run a ghost image of it.
im glad you sent a message to jeff wolverine. its nice to know he is following thru on my request. and the good news of a discount to previous buyers. that will be nice. i will wait a bit for anything else from him till he gets closer to figuring out the issue he said he was havin on the top half. but i do need to get a chin off him, and hopefully after he solves the top half issue, he will do the dome to go with it. then we can all have a really nice 4 part vader mask, with reveal parts.
i guess this is just a day of good news all round, huh? i guess things are lookin up for a rubies helmet replacement for us.
and lds, i dont see why anyone would send ya hate mail. i think that sig was pretty darn sweet, like wolverine said, if you could do the same, with our pics in place, and a double image like his, cuz i really like the 2 shots he used of me in mine.
we need to pool our ideas here for a brotherhood insignia. if ya'll know what i mean?
since you like to design graphics, lds, see if you can whip up a few signet designs and postem here for us to look at and pick one to add to our sig lines area.
i always liked the signet from the klingons, and maybe use that as a base and add something more to it. see what ya come up with if you so choose to accept this mission, lol lil humor there.
i also got the full insole 5/8 lifts today. they should work great in the vader boots. it will take a lil gettin used to walkin with them, but it should be easier to do than some higher lifts would be to walk in. they aint much, just enough to get me a tad higher to keep the cape out from under my heels. and this will make me almost 6' 9" tall wearing the outfit.

i hear ya bro, im kinda tapped out myself. i know the quality will be good on jeff's mask, and chjin, and dome, as a few of us already know, for the price, that brace is excellent. yeah, granted there are a few better ones than that out there, i seen one or two with all metal parts, no resin. but i dont care, for one thing, those are more than a hundred bucks higher in price than jeff. and i think jeff's brace is fantastic. if by judging the brace, and tet i know has the chin too, he could maybe give some detail descriptions of it, like quality and whatnot, i would expect no less in the rest of his helmet parts. shoot look at some he does now, the convert kit for a reveal, it looks great, true, and like before, the reveal pieces are resin, but painted up, they look like the real deal.
im with do-clo on this, i, like him, will wait a bit for some news on jeff's parts, i dont care if i have to buy it a part at a time, like 1 per month, or whatever, at least when i get a part, i can work on it, get it done, then get the next, and do it, or just wait till all the parts are in, before i work it over.
and i dont care if the cost runs a total of 200 to 300 bucks when all parts are bought, either. cuz we can get one part at a time that way, spread out the expense. and when its all said and done, you know, we will have a super helmet to go with our rubies, or scratch built vader suits.

you might be MIA for a bit once in awhile, but look at it this way, you will be saving up more cash quicker to purchase it from him, and maybe all at once if you got the money. im gonna starty saving back. i have some saved, but its for the cancun trip, of course that depends on the court date next month on the 8th, and if the judge gives me the the order to make them fix my first name on the BC.
but from the sounds of jeff's workin, it might be a couple months anyways on that top half of the mask. i may get the chin first if he has one and i have the money for it.
i think when we get it all together, folks will look at that helmet, and think we spent over a grand or 2 on it. i really have a good feelin it will work out very nice. now then, Tet, hows that chin look? i assume he molded it without that dreaded warpage, and i think, it would be cool to have the inner parts there, maybe even find a way to make his fake mikes work with a replacement or hollowing it out to house the mike electic thingy. i dunno bout the fans issue tho. it dont look like youd be able to run the lower grill fan, but you could still run a upper mask fan.
i seen a guy that was sellin the real heat disperser thingies and the other hard to find vaccum tube part, for a reveal, but its pricey.
still, i think jeff's helmet will work and look just as good as a freakin MR or other high dollar fiber helmet. and i think he will make it from abs, but i might be wrong there. he might use a urethane instead, like that one that was on ebay. it looked good, and square, and not warped.
all of us need to keep tabs with jeff. i will email him probably every 3 weeks, to see how its goin. wolverine seems to have a pretty good line with him too.
do-clo, from your last mask photo, it looks like your makin some real progress on it. its lookin better all the time, your doin a great job on it. and i still think what i said is true, you'll end up with a great helmet when your done. now if we could just salvage that dome. comaprin it to other pics and in the ANH movie i watched the other night, that dome definately is too short. its supposed to come almost down to the shoulders. basically, rides just off the armor with around a 1/2 inch clearance. Tet, i beleive it was, said he redone the line, but its really thin in spots because of the rework. a thought, if you could get the shape right, and use the dome as a mold, then build the bottom edge up longer like its supposed to be, and made a fiber mold off it, make or cut off the inside key area, and fiber that into the inside, or whatever, then we would have a fiber dome that was correct, and would make the rubies look better, but then again, im talkin bout lots of work to salvage a rubies that really aint worth diddly squat. certainly not as much as rubies wants, and barely what cwgift gets outta one. around 50 to 60 bucks.

Hey Brothers! The chin from Jeff is just as you thought. No warped neck! It fits to the neck perfect. I can't wait for the rest to come out. As far as the Rubies; I have blocked most of the dome to staighten the lines. I'll now add some 3M 8115 plastic repair material to get the lines right and restore the correct thickness.
I aso have been working on my shins. I have blocked them and am now ready to prime them. I will then add the straps to hold them on and line them with either foam or felt. I have an extra set of Figerglass shins if anybody is interested. They can be used as is by adding straps; but I would paint them so they have a true shine.

This is for the MASK portion of the reveal, He has done the jaw -piece, and the adjoining neck-brace, he did not make his intentions clear as to which helmet he will use, or which helmet will work with his reveal. According to what he said, he will be putting these up on Ebay, as he gets them done. Also, as with the Jaw piece, and neck-brace, he will do them on "order" basis also, where you email him requesting one, and you pay him, and he ships it when completed. [:0][:D][}:)]

thats why we're all really keepin an eye on jeff right now. his take on it was to make a full reveal and make it affordable to regular joe vaders like us. and as wolvwerine even got more info, we get a discount from him too, since the 3 of us have already bought the brace and tet got the chin too.
and yep, you can email him, like i did, to have him make one and pay him direct, no ebay middle jerk man.
man, this anticipation is killin me. i can hardly wait for him to complete a upper section and dome for it.
i know this thing is gonna be killer lookin. like i said, i betcha everyone asks if its a MR or something high dollar.
jus imagine, in public you need a lil fresh air, so you reach up, or have a friend do it, un hook the dome, lift it off, showing all the coolness under it, then you reach up on each side and unlatch the catches, and pull forward and up to remove the upper face, revealing you with the mike and interior details, you get your air, and dont have to take it all the way off. bro's this is gonna be soooooooo cool in the darth vader sithish sorta way.

i dont think so, i actually got one of the wally world helmets for the voice thingy, and the chin part he makes looks nothing like the wally world helmet. the lower chin on the wally helmet is riddled with vent holes all up thru there. now then, i cant say about the upper until i see one of the ones hes doing. but i doubt it there too, as the top half was a screwed up piece as well, notches in the side, vent holes for hearing, yada yada, so on. im thinking he may be molding these off a helmet he may have. i think we'll know more when we see the top itself. the dome mounting and all. since he sells a dome part5 for the mask with reveal parts for a conversion of another helmet, he told me you cut off the old mount, and epoxy or something the new dome part in its place. i asked about doin it on my rubies. thats what he said. i bet he's fixed a rubies helmet and made it right, and molding off it. but that is just a super wild guess. im probably wrong.
i am curious tho, as to what he is using to make them. the 1 million buck question huh?
but im sure they will be great.

It looks like we will have to make Jeff the official armor maker for the brotherhood. I bought one of those cheap helmets and chest box setups also and I will say that all be it was way too small the helmet did have a real good lens in it and you had no problem seeing out of it. I removed the chest box for the sound board and gave the helmet to a kid for a costume. The sound board does a decent job of voice changing, better than most of the more expensive set ups that are being sold as the ultimate vader voice, short of hyperdyne's system there is not a lot to choose from.

Nice looking armor if the bidding stays low enough you might be ok shipping it to you, but as a rule anything out of the country costs a fortune to ship and when you add that on to the cost of the item it isn't worth it. Also you have a greater chance of damage if it is not packed well, don't mean to rain on you just sharing past experience with buying outside the country.

its just like last year when someone poisoned my wolf i had. he was 98 percent tundra 2 percent malamute. he was only 7 years old. gottem when he was a pup.
the lab was my daughters dog, she got her back when i had the surgery in 2004. she was around 7 or 8 years old too.
guess i ought to get a freakin pitbull, and put out a sign and maybe im really thinkin of gettin a dummy camera, and mount it out front, with a sign too. maybe then everyone will stay the freak off my place.
sorry, im just gettin a bit upset over this crap. i just cant believe someone would be so cruel to do that. but there is a seriously f'd in the head individual out here somewhere.

My Dad just bought a camera that's half the size of a zippo lighter. You mount it anywhere near a outlet, out of the elements of course, like a window, and no one can see it. It's wireless, and the reciever is the size of a pack of cigarettes. It's color, and hooks up to any TV, or VCR, so you can have a "security tape" and review it when your home. He picked this little marvel up for $80.00 [;)] Just a suggestion.

i pity the sorry SOB that tries it when im there, i have a real samurai sword right besind my head board by the beD. all i gotta do is as im getting up grab sword and draw at same time. and nice thing, its silent but deadly. stand next to the side of doorway, when theyre hand comes thru, cut the freakin thing off.
if i ever catch anyone breakin in, i will make thenm lose a body part, i promise you that.
i had a friend of mine teach me tai-qwon-do, i know, i spelled it wrong, and ju jitsu. its a combo style, that in laymans terms, translates to, survival tai-qwon-do, i know i spelled it wrong again.
i can use a sword and a staff and nunchakas, proficiently. so you see unless they shoot my butt theyre going to lose a part or die.

Lan get some alarm company stickers and put them on all of the windows in your house, it does work because they don't know if you have one or not and they generally just pass onto the next place. Unless the person doing these things knows you very well then it is a matter on searching out the friends. I know what you mean about people breaking in if they should try it here then the police won't have to rush to get here because they will be dead I have my 45 in my night stand and I don't miss I qualified expert on the range.

nice. i used to have a 38 special but i hated that thing. also had a ruger 10/22 with a 50 shot bana clip. it had a partial m 16 kit on it. it did have m 16 gripstock.
i talked to a friend here at work awile ago and he said to check with a security place he knows of. maybe get the cameras and such there.
i think as long as the neighbors see me out there hooking this stuff up, and make it look like its real whilst doing it, ya know run fake wires and all. then maybe that will work.
my son knows most everyone out there at one time, and he did have a couple enemies. i wonder if maybe its one of his friends he knows thats doin this. another friend also said, the reason we may not of heard her barking in the car, was before they put her in there they might of poisoned her too. remember, my wolf was poisoned, thus a reasonable idea. for one thing noone but us could even get near him. so someone would of had to throw some food thats popisoned in his cable reach. back to now,
thats why i think this might be the case here too. but she wont bite. just a big ole [puppy dog.
cuz we never heard nothing, till the smell started up, and the daughter and friend found her dead in the car. as i said, from the looks of it, she might of been put in there friday morning after we went to bed, and got up at 2:30pm to go to work.
anyways, i think i will look into something like fake cameras for now, and then put a real one up to monitor those, if anyone messes with them, i have gottem.

i did find one on ebay, a color with intercom rotating real camera and another seller sellin 2 fakes that rotate that look just like the real one.
real one was 119, and the 2 fakes were 57. i figure i really need them to all be the same in looks, so it will be more convincing. the real one is a plug n play type, it will plug in a vcr and a tv. so i could really make tapes. and the intercom thing, that would be cool too.
may come back into tulsa later today, and look up that spy shop a friend told me of. and see what he wants for real and fake ones.
i would like to have 2 in front. on each end on trailer, of course one will be real,
and the 2nd fake in back in middle to fake scan the entire backyard.
the fakes are set up to do a 22 to 250 degree sweep. every 2 to 3 minutes for 30 seconds. with red lights flashing.
the real can remotely be set to manual sweep or auto sweep.
i will need to do some lookin round. see what i can dig up.

I would do a report as the police may already be folloeing other incidents you are unaware of in your area.

ok guys, this is what i got,

and this too:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBSAA:US:11&Item=5860861980
a real one with intercom and auto or manual rotate, remote control, can be hooked up to tv and vcr, and a dummy made from the same camera, which comes on every 2 to 3 minutes rotates for 30 seconds. both have red lights on them. and since they both look exactly the same, noone will know which is the real one.
what ya guys think?
ya know someone at work said the same thing bout serial killers too. might be something to that. we really think which in her present state is hard to determine anything, that someone threw a piece of food in the car with poison to get her in there. im just lucky in a way, that it wasnt the daughter or my car they did that too. i plan on usin that real camera hooked to a vcr and tape stuff while im away. playem back when im home.
if the sob comes around messing here again, i will nail them for sure. even at night those cameras have the red lights on, you will see them, and they dont know they cant see much at night, but the porch light should provide enough light at the real camera end, the front door and porch corner, to show up anyone messing around.

We do have a bit of an advantage here we can shoot someone if we are in fear of our lives or if they break into your home. Sorta makes it open season on the bad guys, if more people felt like that things would be a lot different. Lan if you can get some cameras to monitor the outside then it should help discourage people from messing with stuff. The other option is to dig a mote around your place and install a draw bridge and fill the mote with some hungry gators, this would eliminate the bad guys too.[:D]

I got a email about a 81 year old grandma in Austriala that her grand daughter was raped so she tracked down the guys took a picture showed it to her grand daughter to make sure it was them then knocked on the door of their hotel room and when the first guy opened the door she shot him in the groin and while he lay on the floor she shot the second one in the groin also, needless to say she hit her intended targets and these two will never rape anyone again.

well we're supposed to be talkin bout the vader stuff, but we get off at times. i dont mind that at all, it is my thread and it doesnt matter to me if we go off track a bit, we still go back to the subject.
speakin of, im still lookin for a real one to put up. got the fake one on the way. be here in 2 days, so i can hook it up friday.
may run into tulsa later and see if the spy shop guy has anything reasonably priced for real ones. i'll let ya know what i find out.
ya know, i wished i had a way to electrify the yard itself and shock the crap outta anyone trespassing without the remote to turn it off, he he, that would be cool.
on the vader stuff, i got everything just about ready to go, just one thing left to do. run into wally world and get some of the fabric sew on velcro. and sew a patch of the one side of it to the underside of the cape where i placed the velcros other side on the shoulder armor.
pretty easy to sew that inplace on the cape. then when i put it on, i can attach the spots down and that will keep the darn cape from slidin back over the back. shouldnt take more than an hour to gettem sewn on. i have the heavy duty sticky back stuff attached on the cape right now, so i know where i need to place the fabric ones to sew on.
i can probably get that done this weekend. im goin back to the ren fair again saturdsay with some friends that didnt get to go last weekend. more tapin and still pics. and i promise i will get more pics of my outfit to post. oh, and do-clo, i seen that robocop armor posted again on ebay recently. still looks cool, but x-pensive.

ok guys, update time:
i went to the spy shop in tulsa. i got a bullet black and white camera. its a plug and play hookup. to vcr and/or tv. it wasnt cheap. cost me 183 bucks. then i went to wally world and got a combo dvd player with a vcr player recorder. i run the camera out front on the house trailer, by end. and have it pointed so it shows the porch and most of the front yard. hooked it to the vcr.dvd combo unit. and then it runs to a switch box selector i have had for some time. you just hit a button to change to different units. neat lil gadget. i had to mess with vcr a bit to figure it out, wierd controller. but got it working with the camera on my living room tv. i can still play the dvds with it, and switch to vcr and have the camera input. i tested it. it works great. so now i have a surveillance system in place. and a vcr tape when i want to record, tested that too. it works perfectly.
heres the future plan:
when the dummy comes in, then friday i will maount that bullet inside it. as you guys know already, it auto rotates every 2 to 3 minutes for 30 seconds. so then i will have a pannuing camera.
next month, when that guy gets the real color camera with intercom in it, i will get one of those. then swap the dummy with bullet camera to the other end of trailer, run the line into daufghters room to another vcr on another switch box setup, so she can monitor the south camera. then i will mount the new one with the intercom system in it, where i have the bullet mounted now. between the two cameras, i will have a full sweep of the front of my place. and im goin on ebay like the gal at spy shop said to to get some signs and stickers to post up.
so you guys think i got it nailed down good? i hope so. im spending enough on this. but i have a lot more to lose if someone broke in too.

Sorry to hear about your loss Lan. As far as cameras. Go to www.x10.com they got some cool stuff pretty cheap. I have one of their set ups at my house. The cameras are hooked to a motion sensor that records 10 minute intervals. No motion no record. If a cat streaks across the yard you only waste 10 minutes of recording space.
I have found my Voice module. It also has a cd player built in for the breathing. I played with one at a freinds and can get a pretty close JEJ out of it. It runs on batteries and is not very big. Actually it's the size of a VCR case. I'll give ya some more info when i recieve it.

While surfing around looking at Fiberglass helmets, I found this GREAT reference material! [:D]

ALSO -I think this was posted elsewhere in the forum, but here's some "in person" shots of the actual screen costume, and what people are saying about it vs. The Rubies [;)]

nice find tet. hope that works out sith bro. nice link too wolverine. i stumbled across that once but forgot to save it, lol doh! well we can see the rubies gloves arent even close then. and definately the domes too short in back. that thingy stuck above the nose bridge is strange too. i knew the red rocker lit up from diggin round info. do-clo can fix that up in his scratch made box kit when he lights it up. if do-clo just had a copy of the rubies box he could find the way to light up the rocker and swap out the leds for better ones.
my thought was if you did, and run all four things together then it might run off a 9 volt, the area on back where the batteries go could be hacked out to fit a 9 volt and still retain the use of the factory battery cover.
do-clo only prob with the tombstones is anyone would know right away thats a joke. lol i want to let the f'ers know im serious. thus those signs i posted the link to i got comin. couple decals on the house and the big signs out front.
well its almost bedtime. gotta work the next 2 days. and i guess we're still goin to the ren faire again saturday. if friends back out on me again, then my daughter wanted to go.
man today was a expensive day. i spent alot. i also went out with my friends to tulsa and ate at fudruckers and seen See No Evil with Kane. not as good as they were making it out to be. i recccomend it as a video rental for sure, but save the money for the better movies comin out soon. superman returns and xmen 3. theres another but cant recal right off hand.
well g'night all and i will try to get online at work tonight.

I'm not sure if I missed it, but any updates on your application to the 501?

Nice find on the pictures Sith brother, I have seen the movie suit pictures before and thought they have the ba*** to say the rubies is not movie quality please. Lan I am sure I could fix up the rubies chest box and make it look good and the leds should be an easy fix and still could run off of 4 AA batteries. I almost bought a rubies chest box but I have found a better option that i need to pick up a money order tonight and drop in the mail. It is a ROTS chest box with with the electronics included, it should look good when assembled. Many things in the works right now so I am staying busy trying to complete my Darth Technous costume and continue to work on Vader. I am hoping to have my sith costume done by summer for a local con that is coming up and then by the end of the year have Vader ready. So many things so little money and time.

i hear that do-clo. my only thing left is the velcro on cape. i found some velcro that heat activated glue. kinda like ironing it on.
might be better than sewing it on. we'll see. i will try to get that done this weekend. so i will be totally done with the suit. at least all i wanna do to it till later. like, gettin jeffs reveal helmet, maybe upgrading the chest box a bit, with better lights, red rocker light and blink, and billet rods and coin slots.
do-clo where in the world did you find a rots chestbox kit? all i seen was from smallblock302 on ebay and they were the esb rotj ones.
how much that run ya?
so far all i got taped on the security camera is the outside cats lounging around on the porch. as far as night time goes, with the porchlight i have out there right now, i can see around 40 feet. not too bad, but not good enough to see real well at that distance to tell who is who type thing. daytime is better, of course. it shows the neighbors house in the view. i dont think they did it, but in a way, i can keep an eye on them without them knowin it. if they did, maybe theyll give up something i will catch on tape.
ive been really busy tonight at work. this is first break i had time to get online. its easier now, we changed product run.

Those should help deter the scum ball that is messing with you. You need to add another sign though, Owner has a big gun and will use it. You could also set a couple of fake grave stones in the yard with the inscriptions burglar shot and the date.

Ahhh back on the Path[:p], but I feel for you we just had to take our 17yr. old cat to the vet and of course they determined that she had to be put down. It is never easy and just in case I keep my Dad's P-38 in the upstairs nightstand and my S&W .357Mag. Revoler in the downstairs one, plus the numerous swords and daggers around the house, I really hope you get this sucker.

i appreciate the concern you guys, it means alot to me. i may not catch whoever done it, but i guarantee you they wont come back when whoever it or they were see those cameras and the signs. if they do, theyre really stupider than i thought, cuz i will have them on tape. i still need to go over the settings on the vcr, i know theres a setting to make it stamp the time and date as james suggested. just havent had time yet to fool with it long enough.
i can mount the bullet in numerous ways to or in the dummy camera. since its completely waterproof, i could hookit up underneath the fake camera if i choose or inside it. first i want to plug it in and see what kinda of pan range it has. then decide for sure on what i want to do with bullet camera.

I had to repair a camera system for a friend at his shop after some stole the outside camera, this should make you laugh. The guy gets up on his buddy's shoulders to reach the camera housing then while he is looking into the camera full face view he cuts the wires going to the camera and drops the side cutters on the ground which he leaves with his finger prints on them.
I installed a new camera for him inside of the building this time and since it is a metal building I cut a hole in the metal wall and installed a 1 inch thick lexan plate to serve as a window for the camera, he has had no more problems since. And they caught the guy and his buddy that stole the camera, can we say smile for the camera.[:D]
