Please post videos of your sabers.

These should be your own sabers that you built. Most of us have seen MR sabers and know what they do. We want to see what YOU made.

Please make it fun and informative. Don't just get in front of the camera and spin it until you get tired. Tell us about the features.

Also be aware we'd like quality too. Effects should be seen and heard. No, crappy webcams in other words.

One final note, host on youtube or the equivalent. You can use your own hosting too, just leeching is not cool. :P And as always keep the discussion out of this thread.

The latest saber I made. MHS parts, etc... For the vid I had a thinwalled 1" blade with a single wrap of Corbin's film.

I couldn't say everything, but hopefully you can see it's a great saber. Probably my favorite now. :)

Well, I suppose I can add the video of the Killer Penny saber (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1597). It's made up of 70 parts, not including the blade, many of which were custom machined by Orbital Machining (http://www.orbitalmachining.com). It weighs just under 4 pounds and uses a 5 watt Luxeon and my driver assembly.

Here's my PROTOTYPES of my future saber. I'm working on developing a really simple but effective form of Clash Flash. I'm hoping to post the final version soon. Here's the specs on this saber...

Proto1 Saber
- Green K2 Luxeon (usually running at 1 amp until I get some proper heat sinks)
- 2x White Luxeon III LED's for the clash flash effect
- TCSS sink tube, thick wallled blade, tip and switches.
- Plecter Labs Crystal Focus 2.5+ (Erv's made some custom changes for my clash flash project)
- 5 degree lens, Erv's Fiber optic paper and cellophane in the blade
- 29mm speaker full sized "film canister" sound chamber
- Battery charging jack
- Removable blade.

Proto2 Saber
- Green Luxeon V at 1 amp
- TCSS emitter, LED mount, sink tube, thick wallled blade, tip and switches.
- Plecter Labs Crystal Focus 2.5+ (Erv's made some custom changes for my clash flash project)
- 5 degree lens, Erv's Fiber optic paper and cellophane in the blade
- 29mm speaker full sized "film canister" sound chamber
- Battery charging jack
- Removable blade.

Here's a video showing the features of Prototype version 1:

Hilt produced by Yoda of Fx-sabers.com and internals by me.

It features a Rebel LED for the best compromise between brightness and runtimes. At 1A and the C-sized li-ions I used (3300mAh capacity) this baby should start pushing into 5+ hours of runtime no problems.

I'm showing off the fonts and it's a beautiful hilt. I'll be finalizing it soon... I want to get this hilt out. Lots of sabers to attack.

Not so much the saber - even though I haven't shown that off yet - but more the new sound font "steampunk"... It's my first one and I'm just really stoked at how well it turned out... or so I'd like to think... anyway here it is

MR Luke ROTJ Hilt
Luxeon V Green
9.6V NiMH 8AAA pack
Crystal Focus V3
TCSS Darth Maul Conversion kit made to work by me...

Used a "erv style" dual film blade for the vid. It's one of my favorites. Questions, just ask in another thread or PM. This was fun to work on because I didn't have any real problems building it, which is nice for a change. It's a kick butt saber too!

Going to Roys Blues once I patch up his Parks Obi. I kind of like it though :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYGyL--Ny4k

The entire Saber is scratch built and the hilt design is modeled after a Jedi Council Style Hilt.

Oh,

I forgot to mention that the coolest part of this saber is that it runs off of 2 "AA" NiMH Batteries for 3-4 Hours.

This is for people who have already made videos... are planning to do so... or have the ability to do so! It doesn't matter if your saber is hand-crafted, custom-machined, barely decent to look at hilt-wise, or a really weird specialty "light only" 12v LED with a ton of batteries and only a scarce amount of runtime! There SHOULD be a video that you can categorize your saber under!

Take care, and START POSTING your light sabers!! http://fx-sabers.com/forum/Smileys/default/wink.gif http://fx-sabers.com/forum/Smileys/default/tongue.gif

This is a very short video demonstrating the first and only (so far) pommel that I machined that has an on/off button in it. The button inside the pommel is a standard latching SPST from TCSS. I had to bore out the pommel in two different diameters and make a special piece for the gem to attach to that also rests against the push button part of the SPST switch. I also made a custom washer that goes on the SPST switch and a plug to go behind the switch that is held in the pommel with a flush mounted set screw.

Ok, I suppose it's rather ridiculous that I'm FINALLY doing this now... but... here we go...

* If you've built sabers before...
* If you've made a video on y-tube of it/them/those/'dem things
* Post it as a "response" to the appropriate video! :)

This is not a "glory hound" thing... it's actually a good way to bolster the DIY LED saber community and allow new folks (well... ANY folks) to really ***SEE*** the imagination, design, creativity, specifications, various options/decisions, and in some ways--the hours of work that can go into saber-building!

Also... with any luck--my particular objective is allow all of that creativity... lead to MORE creativity. So we don't see "the same" sabers being made over and over again... and so we see certain works inspired by other builders--such as yourselves!!

Finally... as new driver boards come out, I will attempt to add videos for those, I hope (???)

Hello there,

I am Master Jedi Roize from Taiwan. My Padawan lives in France. He saw the Obiwan TPM Lightsaber I built and contacted me several times and requesting me to build him an Obiwan TPM Lightsaber... I hesitated at first... because the Obiwan TPM saber is a pain to build... for my current technology and knowledge. Yes, I am a Machinist myself both Lathe and Mill machines. I built my own Obi TPM saber because it is verrrry expensive to buy at ebay. So evry saber HILT I have are all Custom built by myself... My Luke's EP6 Lightsaber, my Obi EP1 TPM Lightsaber HILT... HILT I built myself then the blade and sound card are of Master Makoto because we know each other and were friends too... Our first project together was Luke's EP6 Lightsaber... our next will be Obiwan's EP3 Lightsaber coming very soon...
Going back to my Padawan who lives in France... I decided to build him an Obiwan TPM Lightsaber because I felt there is a connection between us... unspeakably... I then agreed to build him His Obi TPM Saber.
Of coarse he supplied me the funds for the build... But it was NOT business... it's because he's my Padawan.. and I just built the last Obi TPM Lightsaber for the last time... as it was a pain to build... especially the anodizing part of the proccess... IT is the ONLY two (2) Obiwan TPM Lightsaber that built with 7075 Aluminum which is far more durable (Harder) and more scratch resistant than the "Common" 6061 T-6 Aluminum sold at ebay...

and here's how it looks...
