Great looking saber. Is that stingray skin?

I think you posted it in the wrong section though. I went ahead and moved it here. A saber this nice deserves its own thread. Either that or you can post it here (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=703).

Great work. Did you do it yourself?

Thanks Corbin,Yes thats stingray skin.I made all the parts myself except the MHS parts.I did the machining on the emitter and groves on the hilt besides making all the other parts.I also did the powder coating.

There's not many MHS parts I recognize on there. What parts did you start with?

I started with hilt style #1,a extension, blade holder style #2 and MPS pommel #1.I then made parts to go over the rest.

Dang!

If you're up for it, I might be interested in having you do up something for ME in the future. I like your style. The fact that the saber is still a MHS is really cool. I have to admit, then when you first said that, I thought you were mistaken and were just using the term MHS.

Very cool.

HOLY MOTHER OF ZEUS... great work, Hajime!

Boy, you're not KIDDIN'...

That is (no joke) probably the best custom saber I've ever seen, hands down.

I will most *CERTAINLY* take you up on your offer.

GEEEEEEZ. Dang that's SICK.

Something about your saber looks familiar.

Are the 'red' parts anodized or painted? Fantastic work using the MHS as a basis.

Is it some kind of metallic powder coat? I have never seen PC in that color before. Looks like it was anodized.

I made that color by mixing candy orange and alittle transparent black together.Has to be over a polished surface to get that look.In person it looks more like a reddish copper.

That saber is sweet. Where did u get the grip material, and more importantly, what did u use to secure it to the hilt?

I got the stingray skin from TalasOnline.com.I used it to rewrap a tsuka for one of my Japanese swords, and the extra went on the hilt.Sometimes you can find it on ebay also.I used Welder contact adhesive to secure it.Thats the best gule I have found to glue things to metal.Just a warning it is very hard to cut curves and such.I had to use metal cutters. http://darth.smugmug.com/photos/161015171-O.jpg http://darth.smugmug.com/photos/161015268-L.jpg

I also like the color combo for the tsuka, very nice.

Whoa. That is simply amazing. I have to admit, when I was looking at it and read that it was MHS, I squinted and looked over the pics again...and I only recognized the speaker grill.

Great job with that saber. Excellent custom work!

@#$%^&!!!!! If you had submitted this for the calender you would have had my vote. The MHS moding, power coating, ray skin, its magnificent. If I was a Jedi I would turn to the darkside just to have this saber. How long did it take you to make it?

Hajime

Thanks again for the compliments. It took about 3 weeks to make. It's all apart right now.I am installing a CF 2.61 when ever I find the time to do it.

Zecks took the words out of my mouth. That is an amazing saber. You did an excellent job on it. I would not be upset if I got cut down by a saber that looked that good. :D
