He's asking if soldering means melting the wires metal-to-metal.

I have no real first hand on this, but would think you'd still use a bit of solder to connect the two wires then wrap them when cooled.

Reality often interferes with what would otherwise be an idyllic delusion.

oh, ok. soldering uses for electrical wiring, usually a resin core solder that when the wires are heated up with a soldering iron and the solder is applied , the solder melts into the wires, then removing the iron and letting it cool down, fuses the 2 wires together. then just wrap the connections with electrical tape or heatshrink tubing.
