Nice lamp, but the idea was just so tempting I had to take the one thats not in use appart and this is what I find.

This controller is in a little plastic case.

A litle diffacult to see but I will tell you whats going on here.

Ok the main house wire comes into the lamp, There is a wirenut connecting one main wire and the black wire on the board.

The onther main wire is connected to the red wire on the board.

The Wite wire on the board is connected to 3 black wires going up into the lamp to the lights.

Theres 3 white wires comming down from the lamp lights that is connecting to the main house wire and the red wire in a wire nut.

The yellow wire is connected to the metal lamp itself so that would be the touch sensor.

Not the board itself is actually farly small. smaller than an mr board. Maybe 1.5"X1" and is no taller than an mr board.

Iam unsure of the company that makes these lamps but my guess is that there the same basic design with all touch lamps.

Now How would you wire this thing up for use in a lightsaber?

I got the idea about how to isolate this yellow wire to it only works when its isolated so it works in one spot only and not the whole hilt.

With the new mps it will be alot easyer to do this.

Well this particular circuit may not work particularly well in a saber since it is designed to work with the voltage from your wall, which I think is 120 volts, am I right? However, a quick search online uncovered diagrams that could be used to build your own touch sensor. Here's a link to the first one that I found. Remember that Google is your friend.

The difficult part of this would be to isolate the touch sensor from the rest of the saber. You would have to mount it on a piece of rubber or something. Honestly I don't see the point. The only advantage is that you would have a switch that would turn on without going through the extreme effort of pushing a button, and it would be just as easily turned off, something that might not be a good idea during a duel. But have fun playing around with the idea anyway.

Yes its a household 110V but It was an idea to start ya know to get an idea rolling.

The idea was to isolate the touch wire in the mps grill, and its never gonna get touched in a duel and still use it for a speaker sence there isent a bit switch in the way blocking the grill.

Yeah, the grill would be just about the only place on a saber that you might not accidentally bump. Again, the trick would be to isolate the grill. I bought an MPS pommel and I can say it is a tight fit. You would probably have to fabricate something yourself to replace the standard grill.

use/punch a small holl in the center of the grill, tape the area off and spray something that dosent conduct like plastidip or something. when it drys open the hole back up and take maybe a small metal pin thats also got a coating of some sort on it and wedge it in some how attach wire to it and there ya go.

I cold do it with my vader grill I got in my pommel.
