Hey everybody....the blade, the inverter, and the battery pack came in last week!!! (Thanks Tim).....and i was finally able to finish off my first working lightsaber. The grip design was based off the BYB Style VIII saber....I was going to do Do Clo's hasbro board mod for the El with one switch, but i only have one working board so i'll save it for when i build an LED saber....hopefully soon :D Anyway here are pix:

Very sweet, though why use EL?
Been there, seen it, dismembered it & feasted on the gooey innards to feed my LUX.
I really like that hilt though. :D

Thanks Barmic...as per the EL choice...i honestly didnt really know about the other options for the blades until i started lurking here a few weeks ago....then i decided to go with the EL route because it seemed to be the cheaper route for me to go since i was just starting out. The next one is definitely going to be an LED saber with the driver so i can add both the visual and sound FX....according to my wife, it's my father's day present for myself  .....i'm already toying with some designs for a new Sith saber that will include some Batman influence since i've been a huge fan since i was a kid. :D Plus, since it's my very first saber, i'm hesitant on gutting it out. Thanks again for the comment

No probs dude.
The only thing you'll find is that your next hilt will be lighter than your EL one.
My LED has more parts in it, & it's a longer hilt, yet it's 3/4 the weight of my EL one. Those inverters weigh so much!
As long as it's not Adam West/ George Clooney Batman, that sounds kinda cool! :D
PM nightwing & ask him to show you his Superman inspired design, that's pretty cool.

Indeed, no bat-nipples.

Joel Schumacher should have been beaten with a hose for those!
His only saving grace was 'The lost boys', that stopped me from wanting to use the 2x4 with rusty nails in it.

And Arnie as Mr.Freeze? Everybody knows Christopher Lloyd would have been chosen had Tim Burton been directing!

i would love to see a custom hilt from when batman took on the grendel from the comic line! gotta love the grendels, an awesome cross between jedi and the crow, a unstopable force of vengence and retribution!

i might just have to make up a hilt and costume for that idea, it would be easy to do since most of the grendels hilts were in appearance part of the dreadlocks off the back of their masks, and the suits vary so much i could really take some liberty in the design and add in both comic and sw elements... yeah im gonna have to draw up some designs on this one now! i think darth scion will have to wait a little longer before getting started in favor of a grendel!

oh dont apologize, im always up for a new challenge! ill have to start going back over my comics to get some good images to work from, quick search got these on google, gives an idea of the basic look of the character :

http://www.coverbrowser.com/image/grendel-war-child/8-1.jpg

ill have to get some ideas together and draw up some good sketches on where to go with this costume design. lucky for me since there were so many variations on the character i have alot of room to add in whatever i need to make it work like a hide a way pouch on the back for storing blade tubes. several of the variations also carried forms of ballistic weaponry, so as this project takes shape it will give me a reason to look into some of the great designs out dealing with sw type blasters, many of which ive been dying to build...

I think we just created a monster..... :D

I'm interested in your take on Darth Sion, I haven't seen any that look right. Afew Nihilus' & Revans have impressed me, but all the other Darths seem to fall short (besides the Vaders obviously). Thomas on Flagship Eclipse has done fantastic work on his clone Emperor & Darth Bane, but even on there the Sions seem abit too much like Fimo stuck on.
I suppose he's kinda tricky to do right though. Good luck!
