what do you use to keep the blade in when you make your hilt out of pvc?

i have never had a blade come out that way, i use pvc dueling sabers all the time in fact right now i have 8 on the go for my lightsaber class, i try to run strips of fiberglass tape along the length of the pvc blade to strengthen it.

I made it like the ones ultra makes. I found that tims heasink fits right into the connector piece, and the leftover maul blades fit nicely in there.

yeah my new dueling saber uses a pvc blade holder with a maul blade 3" deep socket and it fits so perfect i sometimes don't bother with the set screw.

I need to make better ones but right noe I just use a a screw with a big 'head' and um... duct tape to keep it on.  I have the whole hilt taped tho so it doesn't look to trashy. 8)

dont feel bad duct tape is da bomb! i usually use hockey tape on my practice sabers for a better grip, as for the screw wood screws work really well

Realy the only part of the sabers that are pvc are the blades, the hilts are actualy plastic stakes from an old volly ball net.

one small suggestion i have for you is to tape the blades with clear hockey tape or packing tape this will prevent the paint from coming off when dueling it also makes the blades a little stronger!

the paint I picked up for the hils my brother is making is a textured krylon for plastics. takes a few days for the tacky ness to go away but its pritty good. its nto compleatly black kinda black/charcoal look. I like it.
