Tim said it would fit, but should I drill hole on either side to hold it in place? Like there would be the thumbscrew to hold the blade in place, but lower should I put screws to hold it in place?

I would use atleast 2 screws on the back side of where your thumbscrew would go.

On a lower portion and a higher portion. Heard many storys of the hilt snaping where the orange bit and grooves come togeather.

They fit really snug so I would think you could get away with just the blade screw unless you where thrusting with it.

so will you be making a "official" luke kit, or just telling us to use the maul ones?

Strydur

I might just modify some mauls. I dont know yet.

Lord Maul

that would probably be good. i haven't seen a luke open for myself, but isn't there like a notch or something that you could make the blade holder wedge into so it doesn't move?

i only get that impression because of how ultra's kit is shaped.

if you do do that, you'll be getting a 4 kit order from me when i get more money  :P

If it was just wedged against the normal plastic housing that would work fine. Although the maul kits wont work this way as they are too long.

Hey Tim, would it be the same if I wa using an empty hilt?

Strydur

If using an empty hilt I would think you could get away with just a thumbscrew but you might want to add an extra also.

How many people want an actual Luke conversion kit?

I could name a couple people.

I'd just as soon use your kits than make my own. It would free up my machine time.

Hi, my first post here. I am a regular on FX-Sabers.com and go by the name of Chewbacca.

I would definately be interested in a Luke ROTJ conversion kit too.

I already have a Luke ROTJ conversion by JSS, but have a spare Luke hilt that is just begging to be converted into a stunt saber.

I too would like a Luke conversion kit.

...

I broke my brother's stock MR Luke while dueling.... oops. I promised him, that I would convert it to make up for it.

I would like one also.

Purchased a 2003 with the EL blade, which snapped off 10 minutes after I got it home. Good news is that it only cost me $25 on craigslist.

However, without a timeline for completion I will probably use the generic blade holder and heatsink and get it to work (hopefully).

I wouldn't mind converting a saber myself.

At this point I dont plan to do anymore FX kits until we see what happens to Master Replicas. I would rather put the money and effort into MHS parts. I think Ultra has Luke kits though.

Will at least maintain them for a bit after MR takes the dive? They have until mid next year to sell stock and if anything demand may increase when the sabers cease to be an "available" commodity.

Would it still be possible for you to make a kit for certain saber apon request? Like, I might get a Maul next year and might not convert it for 1/2 a year. Would you still be able to make anouther set of the holders?

well i for one will definately want a couple kits to convert mine, soon as i can afford it. cuz i also have a plan in mind to build a MHS hilt too at some point.

so hopefully there will be 2 maul kits in stock when i have the money for them.
