I have the opportunity to receive (for free), a brand-new white 5W luxeon III LED.

Would a 5W work with the current emitter sold at CSS in tems of heatsinking ability? I know the 5W will be bright as a mofo...too bright?

Has anyone here used a 5W Luxoen in their LED-based saber? If so, how did you like it?

...how will you know the light unless you have seen the dark? How will you know the good unless you have flirted with the evil?

I could be wrong..but I am pretty sure you either have a luxeon III which is a 3w or a luxeon V which is a 5w not a luxeon III 5w. Try this thread.

<font size="6"></font id="size6">Hey Tim,

What about the Luxeon V? I found some on an led site. Do they work in the sabers? Would they be too bright? I haven't modded any of my sabers, yet, but I want to have the ultimate saber when I get done, rather than constant upgrading. I don't want to look back with regrets if there's something better I could have used. Thanks, in advance.

I'm not Tim but... I don't think the blade holder is enough of a heatsink. You might want to wait and get your hands on a Luxeon K2.[:D]

Thats correct..unless the k2's end up being way out of range price wise then they will be a much better option then the lux V
