i ave been snoopin through this forum for about a year now and desided to join the ranks! after tomorow im going to order some parts and get started on my first saber. all the forums helped alot and that one for noobs buy tim was a great help. thsanx to all you guys that know what you are talking about! if it wasnt for yall i would be.....well lost.

the only thing i do not understand is the sound board.
is the "luxeon 3w driver" a sound bord as well or does it just control the light affects?

i know its aprolly a nub question, but iether way any help or advice you guys could give me would be great. :D

thanx alot, fau ramid

Lord Maul

the "luxeon driver" that is sold here only controls the light. it has a extend/retract effect and C&L.

the luke Sound Board sold under the sound category is just sound.

you can wire them both together, but it is very hard for someone not good at electronics. if you wish to do that, someone like Do Clo can give you a diagram

Welcome!
For a first saber - I'd reccmend a 3w LED run directly off an MR board if you can find one. The wiring is simple, and the result is really good.

Keep it simple to start or else you'll be ripping clumps of hair out!
Do-Clo is easy to get hold of, really knows his stuff.

na man ima take it all the way with a 5w and a sound board and a driver and everything. this hoe is gonna be off the chain.

Iam not sure if thats a good choice of words but ahyway welcome to the forums and good luck with your saber.

Persionally Ithink your first saber should be something simple so you can get used to things then your next saber try something different and possably diffacult then your next go all out and balistic on it.

My first saber is stil basic but as soon as I get my taxes back Iam gonna be getting a couple things to finish this darn thing off and for good.

Barmic Rin
04-14-2007, 02:22 PM
Well, all the frustration I've had bunging mine together, i'm sure i'm thinner on top than I used to be!!!

I'd start simple, then add to it later as your skill increases. Then you can progress to nut-case sabers like Ambo's crazy Tonfa one!!!!

Ryma Mara
04-14-2007, 03:11 PM
Yeah as soon as I get my income tax iam gonna be getting some custome pices made. just 1 custom actually. and the right switch

fau-pa ramid
04-14-2007, 04:02 PM
its going to go through stages. it will still be the same saber just better externals like i said its going to cost alot so it will take time.

Ryma Mara
04-14-2007, 04:05 PM
Yeah currently I have sunk over 160$ into this saber and soon prolly another 60-80$. its more than I wanted with this one.

fau-pa ramid
04-14-2007, 04:09 PM
its always like that. every time i turn around i find something new i want to add to the one im making.

I've had some of my hilt parts since november, it's my 1st MHS, but until I get these screwholes re-done it won't fit how I want. There's no rush to get it finished, i'd read up as much as possible before you start, make sure you know fully what you're doing.

Lord Maul
04-14-2007, 06:41 PM
fau, take your time. i jumped in head first, and i will BARELY have room in my saber for all the stuff. not to mention how hard the soldering on this will be. take it easy, i wish i did

fau-pa ramid
04-14-2007, 08:28 PM
well i would be a fool to not head the wisdom of the wise i can always upgrade later.

fau-pa ramid
04-14-2007, 08:56 PM
ok im gonna start smal with a 5w green led with battery kit thing.

so now i have a question does the resistor make the saber apear to to shoot out of the blade or for that effect am i going to need to buy a driver?

Lord Maul
04-14-2007, 10:35 PM
for that effect you need corbin's driver and corbin's blade. both are sold here.

again, just start small, and practice and think it out before making some grand plan

Barmic Rin
04-15-2007, 01:16 AM
It's later on when you should start doing stuff like Chicken clucks on your saber for an activation noise (roll out Core V2 already erv!!!)

Start simple...

fau-pa ramid
04-15-2007, 06:22 AM
wireing a driver is preaty simple i mean it tells you where to put each wire the only one i dont understand is the two imputs for clash what are those for?

Ryma Mara
04-15-2007, 09:30 AM
Well you can take a momentary button and wire it in to the C&L so when ever you are dueling and ya stril another blade tap the button for a clash effect. and if you hold it it will shimmer. if you hook up a mr sound board you can take the clash sencor and wire it to there C&L instead and it will do it automatically for you but you will loose the shiffer effect if I remember right.

fau-pa ramid
04-15-2007, 10:42 AM
ok but if i dont wire to it it wont blink but the other functions will still work? cuz i dont like it blinking.

Lord Maul
04-15-2007, 10:46 AM
it doesn't blink, it shimmers
it's not like the hasbro flash on clash, this just flickers the light a bit, never totally cutting the power

Ryma Mara
04-15-2007, 10:47 AM
well fromwhat i understand even if you hook up a shock sencor from eather an mr or a hasbro regardless its gonna flash, the only way I think is to not hook anything to it, Iam not sure on most of it but if you pm corbin he could answere all your questions about it.

fau-pa ramid
04-15-2007, 10:54 AM
i think ill try it for myself and find out i can always add parts later. sides corbin skares me......dont know why.

Ryma Mara

04-15-2007, 04:32 PM
yay!!!!!! i just orderd parts for my saber!!!!!!!!

does any one know when the middle sections of the MHS will be available?

Ryma Mara
04-15-2007, 05:14 PM
Ok I see, I hae no idea usually tim lets us know when parts are back in stock. But there are the ribbed and vgrooved sections that are still in stock.

fau-pa ramid
04-15-2007, 06:07 PM
bah!!!! that sux well i hope the other one comes back in stock soon. i will just work on the other stuff while i wait. :D

Ryma Mara
04-15-2007, 06:14 PM
Yeah it shouldent be to long. the new pommels and a bunch of other stuff will be commig out soon.

fau-pa ramid
04-15-2007, 06:22 PM
are you serious new parts but i just perchest parts! ok good thing i only got an emitter.

Ryma Mara
04-15-2007, 06:28 PM
Yeah hopefully within the month or so.

Theres gonna be pommels, tim redid the old pommels so there sound friendly, theres gonna be some misc parts like hopefully rechargeports in the covertech knobs stuff of that nature. and theres gonna hopefully be some more center sections.

Yeah as soon as the new parts come out I got to redesign some saber ideas

fau-pa ramid
04-15-2007, 06:35 PM
omg that is going to be sick! glad i waited. 8)
i think im still going to get parts custom made just to make it origenal.

Ryma Mara
04-15-2007, 07:00 PM
Yeah my next saber is gonna have 2 custom parts. there basicly modifyied versions of what is already in stock.

In the modulat hilt system forum theres a post called the wish list. I posted the pics of the hilt section and the blade holder I want made. and its basicly a moifyied versions of blade holder 5(I think its 5) and the vgrooved section.

I just play around with stock parts and alter thim a bit in mspaint.

Currently Iam working on one now for my persional saber.

fau-pa ramid
04-16-2007, 09:05 PM
yeah look at my page i do more than roto the blade i make it look like its suposed to be in the enviroment its in. by adding light where it should be and what not.

Novastar
04-17-2007, 04:10 PM
fau-pa... you might check theforce.net on the fanfilms section for rotoscoping info.

In fact, I was recently seeing some posts on a sort of "auto-scoping" idea. Not totally bug free yet, but still.
