I know those Larbel Hilts well :)

I converted mine a while back to a Luxeon using the 3/4th blade.

The interior doesn't leave much room for the electronics and even the
AAA packs are a real tight fit.

But I did manage to get it all in along with keeping the red button as
the on off with a latching switch.

Here's tha link to it if you want to see.

Comments aren't allowed in the Gallery thread themselves. I'm letting the other one stand because you didn't actually post the pics for your saber.

Also... mine isn't a Larbel. Parks made them too. Thus mine is a different animal. Mine should be a lot easier to work with since he always works with the EL being an insert.

The bottom comes of and the whole middle is hollow. Looks like the insert is 1" from the top so it should be pretty danged easy to at least light up.

I opened it today. Parks knows how to do it... It's about 1 1/8" the whole way. The emitter would probably have to be machined to get a 1" blade. Sound... I can see it being possible. I think the best solution would be to bore the pommel out and put a ring of of holes into the smallest point f the pommel.

Luxin' it up shouldn't be a problem. :)

I posted pics last year compairing a Larbel to an EL Parks' Obi-Wan Ep.I/II.

I own a Park's Obi-Wan Ep.I, and a fellow (local) FanForce member had the Larbel.

Should I post the pics again?

Why not...

I'd have to say Parks knew what he was doing. A basic Lux upgrade should be easy. I was able to take the saber apart in like 5 minutes with an allen wrench set.

I still haven't taken mine apart yet. But, as time goes on, I'm actually considering stripping the guts out and upgrading to LED. The only problem is that I much prefer a 1" blade for LED, and with that, I really don't want to start cutting up any significant Park's parts.

XWing - maybe both you and I could commission someone to make us a couple 1" emitters.

Okay, here are 3 comparison shots I took. Keep in mind, as the pics are labelled, the Park's is EL-loaded, while the Larbel has no electronics.

I wouldn't mind going in double for the 1" emitters. It's only a little mill work outside of the lathe. The switch is actually sandwiched between the holder and the body... otherwise it's a pretty simple design he has going.

If you do want to take it apart you can PM me. I'm sure you can figure it out... very straight forward, but if you want to know what you're getting into.
