Ok so my brother and I have been tryign to figure out something about the MR boards.

They say that to use the boards as we have been for sound and driving the lux3. why is it that some boards only have 3 batterys and others have 6?

Does the board have a voltage regulator or something in them to keep it at 4.6V(I think tis 4.6)?

If thats so they why do they still use the 6 battery pack?

Basicly where trying to figure out why some have 3 others have 6 and why they dont fry the board on the 6 battery pack.

They are 4.5V... the parallel two sets of three. I don't remember which set it is, but you can pull out a row of two and it will still light like normal. It gives longer run times but is essential useless.

It's a silly hold over from when they needed 9V for EL.

I personally find that more batteries in the hilt does make up a nicer counterbalance for that heavy blade they have... but as X said, its just that they didn't change the setup from the earlier 9V EL setup.

How would that help?

Google isn't going to tell you what an e-mail to Tim would.
