iTunes is a rip off. a buck a song
talk about expensive.

i don't really like having books read to me. i can read way faster by myself and then there aren't the weird voices of the different characters.
that's just my .02 cents

Also on the SW audio books, the actions and stuff aren't decribed. For example, in lightsaber/blaster duels, all you hear is the sound effects. Feels blind 8) ...

Lots of stupid things now removed

You know for some reason I don't think I would have admitted to that on a public forum. RIAA, ASCAP, BMG and a few others are paying people a lot to sit around and search for people admitting things like that then busting them. Its a rather expensive fine for every file you have.

That is also illegal.

You could go read the books too. Novel idea, isn't it? (awful pun there)

i dont know what elrond wrote but i dont think that xwing was pointing in my direction because each audiobook costs around 12-15 bucks

I am all for audio books, Few things rival Jim Dale reading Harry Potter, and i would far sooner pop in an audio book while driving than listen to the mindless drivel of a radio dj. While you can get a bad reader from time to time, once you involve yourself in the story, that fades away. Reading is grand, but when your hands and/or eyes are otherwise occupied(driving, cleaning house, taking care of younglings...) you can get the same benifit as having read the story yourself. Plus it helps young developing minds acquire a fondness for reading and helps them to become better readers. Props to you countdown on continuing your literary knowledge... you might even learn something.

by the way, not meant as a criticism, just an observation, i think you have been stiffing us for quite some time lm, while most people are willing to give 2 cents, you seem to think it fit to only offer 2 hundredths of one cent. Are you holding out on us?

Now there I have to dissagree. Stephen Fry reading the UK versions is much better IMO

Stephen Fry is a grand actor. He did a fine job on wooster and jeeves, but i havent heard his reading of harry potter, you dont by chance have a sample you could share by chance, or perhaps a linky to some of his clips?

Wouldn't it be illegal if I linked to a recording?
But he's available for torrent download I think

super T, just have elrond give you the link. he already does stuff like that

and angelus, yes, it would be illegal

i would think if its a small 30 second sample of somewhere random in the book it would be ok, or whatever you have his voice of.

mostly i am after a sample, preferrably with a bit of main character banter in it. A bit of searching only pulled up that he narrated three of the harry potter games. No record of him doing the books that i could find.

I see people use the .02 all over the web. Its just alot easyer to type sence noones getting tetnical about what it actually means. they use it for what it looks like.

fb is the tcss jester, way loftier title than some small time court jester like nimrod...

and i would never put them in the same sentence, considering brother firebird actually has something to offer the forums instead of     or
"do your research before posting stuff... wow dont i make myself sound dumb"
