It has 3 led slots and a clash sensor and a speaker. It has an led strip powers on much like force fx sabers and also lights up leds in a random sequence for half a second or so after a clash. The clash sensor is actually pretty responsive. The speaker is pretty quiet, but makes a decent knock-off lightsaber hum. The clash noise actually sounds pretty good.

The board it self is very tiny. It's shorter than a AA battery, but a little wider. Runs on 3 AAAs(about 4 volts in practice) and I tested my lux briefly and it did light.

I've been entertaining the idea of building a budget duel saber using this board or another like it. Mainly so more of my friends will get their own. Has anyone else done something like this or have any thoughts on it? Does anyone think something this cheap could run something like a tri-cree since it has three led ports?

I can't find any links to the actual thing, but it's similar to this one http://www.walmart.com/ip/Light-Saber-Sword-with-Sound-and-Light/48195111?action=product_interest&action_type=title&item_id=48195111&placement_id=irs-200-b3&strategy=TIC&visitor_id=GnN2owo8DMzE3R8ZPeEb8U&category=&client_guid=e14450a4-067a-4fda-81bc-041de2013af1&customer_id_enc=&config_id=200&parent_item_id=48195111&parent_anchor_item_id=48195111&guid=990d3972-6128-42bf-babd-5feaec191dac&bucket_id=irsbucketdefault&beacon_version=1.0.1&findingMethod=p13n .

You should read the Hasbro, budget, etc threads for an idea of how to proceed. You may be able to get your LEDs to light off the board, but you won't be able to drive them at full power. You will want to use a transistor either with one of the LED leads, or off of the speaker.
Threads here: http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/forumdisplay.php?15-MR-and-Hasbro-Single-LED-conversions
And this thread in particular: http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?10288-2010-Electronic-Lightsaber-w-DVD-Tutorial

I think I just got the same thing you have. Problem is it shuts off after 10 seconds. Is there a way to stop it from doing that?

No...it is programmed in the sound board....unless yours has a switch on it that has a "TRY ME"-"OFF"-"ON" switch on it. Even then it still shuts down after some time.
