Custom Boot Help

i'm making a few custom boot sounds in Audacity. the problem i'm having is this: the boot sound itself is fine, but after it plays the is a brief static sound. has anyone ever encountered this problem?

Is it the correct length. The manual specifies an exact time the boot sound has to be for a custom "blank" boot sound.
