I have the sound board out of a Qui-Gon Jinn saber that I'd like to use in the LED one I'm building, BUT it doesnt look like the one thats in the wireing diagram:

the wires to the speakers are easy enough, and there is a BA+ which i am guessing is BATTERY, i am guessing the GND is ground, that should go on the negative pole on the battery, right?

Moved the topic...

That doesn't look exactly like my Qui-gon board I fried (Tip: Use 3V)... but all Hasbro can be used similarly.

Yup, BA+ is the positive and GND is negative. Red and Black almost always works that way.

weird thing is, the BA+ is a BLUE wire.

i cant make out what the RED one says - its got a hole through the letters. looks like SW1+

yeah, thats definitely it. theres a white one that says SW1-

theres another black one marked LAMP-. there is a LAMP+ hole, but no wire attached to it.

Just some Hasbro advice. If you plan on driving the LED with it, bypass the fuse. I forget who on the board first suggested it, but I have brought 2 boards back to life and they have been going strong ever since.

So how would you bypass the fuse? :D

Just solder a wire from one side of the fuse stem to the other.

Glad I could help!

It doesn't work with all Hasbros from what I hear, but I sure wouldn't chuck one until I tried it.

Firebird, the 2 back from the deads are Vaders. I tried it on a Windu, but only got the sound back.

Older ones didn't have a fuse. Neither does yours.

That look exactly like the board I used in my luxeon saber. The wiring on it was pretty straight-forward. Just do it like X-wing said. The only difference with mine, is that I've been running it on 4.5 volts for a couple years and haven't burned out the board, just had a 3-watt led go out on me a few weeks ago. The board I used came out of a 2002 AOTC "Jedi" saber that had an orange blade, but was basically a re-colored QG.

is that the vader with the motion sensor for the woosh noise?

I think so but I'm not positive.. I can tell you for sure if you need to know for something that you are working on. They are both inside resonance chambers right now and they heavily taped up. The Mace that is lying in my parts box definitely has a separate sensor.

so is there a specific hasbro sound board that i could use that would sound the best? i have the vader, windu, qui-gon, and the build your own. if it works well, does anyone have a wiring diagram i could use or direct me to one? that would be fantastic!

My ROTS Vaders are OK I guess.

X-Wing says that the ROTJ Vaders are the best, but I don't remember what they sound like.

I had the speaker for my Mace card mounted to a 2" long metal tube that made it really loud, but the sound effects weren't the best.

I guess its up to you as to what sounds the best to you. Here is a link to the Hasbro sound card wiring.

that's probably led negative. "lamp" means light i would assume

You're right LM, that would indeed be the negative to the lightbulb in the Hasbro saber. Hook it up to the Negative for the led.
