I guess this is the right place to start. I'm building my first lightsaber and I will use NB v.3 but I want a very specific font. witch program shall I use to create my own fonts?

I'm a big fan of Audacity. It does what I need it to do, and it's available for the low, low price of FREE. :)

That is a very good price indeed.

Audacity is a great software to use and very user friendly. It can save in multiple formats with no plug-ins. A not so cheap software for sound editing is Adobe Audition you can download it for a free 30 day trial.

One thing to consider on any of the Adobe trials, though could be resolved now since the issue arose about a year ago, there is a glitch on many systems were the trial expires on your machine but remains active in the registry and Adobe's licensing server thus preventing you from activating the full version if not purchased during the active trial time. Well without an extensive session with IT involved. This was primarily for the Creative Suite products and Premier.

Another vote for Audacity. Can't beat the price, and it's powerful enough for everything you're likely to need for a saber font.

Plecter Labs has a very good tutorial (http://www.plecterlabs.com/shop/article_info.php?articles_id=39&osCsid=fj1eul7qnm4d99379sgo8lm9g0)on it.

Load the sound you want, apply any effects, and export as .WAV named according to the directions in the manual
