Can anyone tell me how much length trim rings add to the saber?
If they differ, I am specifically interested in types 3 and 4
Thanks.

They only add about 1/16".

AH great, thanks
I've been informed that they do change the clocking. Any idea by how many degrees?

your mileage may vary, but around 650 degrees
It would be nice if it was closer to a multiple of 360. I don't suppose a clocking washer would get it to that.

I really recommend Madcow's sandpaper method for getting parts to line up the way you want:

Super easy to do - just be sure to do a little bit at a time!

Yes, I've done that. I've found it works best for minor adjustments though. Shaving off 190 degrees seems like quite a bit for that method.
