Well I got a switch that I bought from tim about a month and a 1/4 ago and it seems that when I hit the blade agenst something to trigger the sound effects of the vader board, my switch moves around enought to make the board think its shutting off. and then it also will flash and what not when it just lightly press it. Hell it does it when I wiggel the plunger.

So did I get a bad switch?

i would not aspire to the lofty realm of an electronics specialist, but it seems more likely to me that another bit of your circuitry is bad. Check your solder joints, and the connections to the board, they are far more likely to malfunction than would a switch.

like super t said you likely have a bad connection somewhere, could you break down the hilt and take a close up pic of your electronics so we might be able to see where your problem is? if the problem was in the switch itself then it prob. wouldnt work at all...

Tim sells a switch that latches at the bottom of the "Through" rather than at the top like the one you apparently have.

If you circuitry checks out OK then I would suggest obtaining this alternate switch and trying that. You may have a faulty switch, or you are somehow bumping it, ether way, I think you'll benefit from the new switch.

I'll get a link right now...

Edit: Linky (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/pc-726-10-spst-push-onoff-mom-switch-with-black-button.aspx)!

SPST Push on/off - Momentary switch. This switch works as a normal latching on/off switch with one difference. When off you can lightly press to momentarily turn on. When latched on if you accidentally tap the switch it won’t momentarily flash off

Its got to be my switch then, I got switch #3 http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/pc-611-10-push-onpush-off-switch-with-black-button.aspx

So I should switch to switch #7?

It's not the wiring becouse I checked it twice. Plus I did it so it has to be good. :D

If all the rest checks out that would be my suggestion.

Just to be sure there's nothing else wrong, I'd bypass the switch and see if that fixes the problem. If it does then get the other switch and you should be good to go!

ya I will check that out but the reason I say switch is becouse you can hold the whole switch when out of the hilt and just play with the thing and it does it. I tried the whole hold the switch and wiggle the wires and solder joints just to see and nothing.

I didn't even see your post before my last...

Well I guess that sums it up then... Get a new switch.

So my switch died on me.

I thought it was the wire so I took it apart and all the connections were still connect4ed. just nothing working.

So, as soon as tax returns come in I will just get a different kind of switch altogeather.

So any ideas as to which switch to get?

yes isn't it grand?
well I just took his hilt apart and it wasn't his switch. one of the wires broke loose from him messin with it so much. He's trying to get things the way he wants them but he needs to be patient.

Is the switch still screwy or did that just fix everything?

the switch still will flash a little when you touch it. almost like the spring is not very strong and can't keep it one way or the other.

Yeah but I like to figure out what I need long before I even think of ordering something.

Like I thought I needed a 1" m/F extention made when I really needed a 1.5" m/f ext made.

So.... :?

And yes my sig is awsome :D
