I have just bought this new tri-rebel star and want to know if I need to get three individual resistors and if so at what resistance when hooked up to a 18650 batter

Yes, you will want three individual resistors if you are planning on using all three dice of the Tri-Rebel.

so for the green lights will a 1ohm/2watt resistor be sufficient? or should I go with the .47ohm/.5watt?

Either will work. The 0.47 ohm 0.5 watt resistor will be slightly brighter.
