Tonight I build my first saber. But unfortunately it doesnt work. The issue is when I plug the battery into the holder, it would make a boot sound. When I press the momentary switch, the LED and other sounds do not turn on. Here are some images. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello there, welcome to the forums. My first guess would be a problem with the switch. Which one are you using? Pics would help and maybe a wiring schematic :)

First step in trouble shooting any electronic is to get a descent multimeter and track the electrical flow, starting with the switch like Greenie said. Then check if the LEDs are getting power and so on.

I assume since you got a boot sound, you did orient the battery polarity correctly. If using 18650, they can be tricky at first, I put mine in backwards in my Fenix flashlights from time to time...especially if in a hurry to get out to a tree stand in the morning.

I'm using a regular 16mm av switch recessed

Do you have one of the illuminated switches? You may have made the connection to the LED terminals instead of the switch terminals. How many contact points are on the bottom of your switch? 2, 4, or 8?

2 terminals. Not illuminated

There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with your wiring diagram. We'd need some better resolution photos of your wiring to know more.

did you have the SD card in while soldering? the manual is very pointed about not doing that.

larger pictures would be very helpful. we need to get a good look at your soldering job and what is connected where.

@boot sound: is the the boot.wav from the selected sound font that you are hearing, or is a beep? the fact that you hear sound at all means your speaker is good to go.

what battery are you using? I don't see a recharge port in your diagram.
