I have a design that will utilize switch 22 (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/SPST-Momentary-tactile-switch-P641.aspx), but I have come to understand that the momentary switch ring will not work. How is this switch held in place?

Drill the proper sized hole, and the switch gets pressed into place. According to the store page, the hole size is .205".

What holds it in place? If it's being used and swung around, what's to keep it from falling inside of the hilt?

A little thing called friction. "Press fitting" won't be easy, but if you have the right hole, and you do it right, it fits quite nicely.

Thanks.

Apparently FJK doesn't like friendly ribbing.

As I understand it, you want to press it in straight, and DON'T twist it. The frame of the switch can come apart if you twist it when you're pressing it into place.

If you're worried about it coming loose, a tiny dab of glue will ensure it'll never come out again. The glue is entirely unnecessary, but it may give you peace of mind. :)
