My stepdad is a trucker, and hes got a huge pile of old CB Radios and old Scanners down in the basement. Has anyone had any success in finding things that might be good for hilts or electronics using these things? I'd rather not waste my time if I know its going to be a failure; but if no one else has tried, I might as well go for it.[?]

wow...

CC, that's one of thoes things that you won't know until you look. And you'd have to use your imagination.

As far as specific electronics, about the only think I think you'll get off then is switches and cool, but useless ports (decoration).

If you can get any of the mounting clips - they can be fastened to a leather strap to make a belt clip system.

CC if they are not worth selling as collectables or worth a trip to ebay land then it is totally worth it to play around. You could find some fun things in there.

More than likely you would be better off selling them on ebay as vintage radios, people seem to love the old cb radio stuff. Then take the money made and purchase a really cool mhs setup. :)

The ones built now are mostly chips and everything is surface mount, nothing to scavenge. :(
