First things first- total noob question:

I've been looking at the wiring diagrams and I'm confused by the recharge port that is attached to the battery. Can someone explain that? I don't see any or locks/keys for them anywhere.

The battery pack I'm using is a: Panasonic Li-Ion 18650 3.7

Other parts:
Nano Biscotte V2 (when back in stock ???)
Tri Cree RRW
2 1ohm 2 watt resistors
?? Resistors for white?
2W 28mm speaker
Momentary switch

I researched a little more but still couldn't find any recharge ports or locks on the store.

Found Power Xtender 2.0 (although not in stock)

Found a heatsink and top (also not in stock)
Will this fit in an MPP replica? No idea what the diameter is.

Here is the recharge port (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Switchcraft-21mm-Power-Jack-P822.aspx).

The kill key is called a kill plug in the store. You can find them here (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Clips-Connectors-C37.aspx), although some are out of stock right now.

When the kill plug is inserted, it pushes away the negative terminal, breaking the circuit to the board and other electronics. When charging, power is only going to the battery not the rest of the electronics.
Madcow will explain it better than I. http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?17005-Video-wiring-a-recharge-port

Do some people actually add these and keep them internal?

In my case if I'm wiring this up for a MPP replica, I don't want anything extra on the hilt- or can I convert one of the screw in pieces to be the plug?

Yes, that is a valid design choice. I've seen it done numerous times.

Keeping it internal or changing a piece on the hilt to be a plug?

Both, actually. Internal is easier. Changing an external piece to be a plug can be more difficult, depending on your artistic skills and tools available.
