Covertec able to placed on 4" deep fluted?

I attempted a search but to no avail, is it possible (and functional) to have a covertec screw placed onto a deep fluted extension?

I assume I'd be looking at the thumbscrew style if I were to attempt it?

Possible? Yes. Functional? That depends on where abouts it sits on the hilt and what it's for, ie to hang your saber on a covertec clip or for aesthetics :)

Assuming the grooves and raised sections are equally sized, and assuming I've done my math correctly, each raised section would be about 11/32". The OD of an 8-32 is half that, so you should be ok.
