the right resistor

Hi,

I kept on going back and forth figuring what resistor to use.
I am new so please help.

I and planning to get the Amber Cree LED. I want to use a 4xAA batteries for it. I intend to use a buck puck of 1000mah too.
and maybe in the future use a speaker (but this will take a long time, I just need for my LED).

Tell me which resistor do I need please? and please tell other tips such as the right item to use.

If you use a buckpuck, you won't need a resistor for your main LED.

If you use an illuminated switch, you'll still need a resistor for the switch LED.
