So currently I have everything in my wish list as I am looking over my order to see if it makes sense.

http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/ViewWishlist.aspx?ViewCode=0a6efa9a-acc0-4979-a56d-0091be3015a0

I do have a soldering iron and plenty of wire at home, the only thing I don't understand is if I move all these items to the cart it doesn't order things that are out of stock. Do I have to constantly check the site to see if those parts are going to be in stock or does it just order it for you once its available?

I think I might be missing a resistor but I'm not sure if its integrated in the LED module already. If not I have no idea what resistor to buy as I suck with circuits.

also does anyone know if I have to add a tapped hole and set screw to keep the LED module in place ?

thanks for the help! MTFBWY!

Welcome to the Forums.

You would need a resistor for the LED. AS you search around here, I'm sure you'll come across the tutorial I posted on it.
Since the store was just redone, the "Notify me" feature hasn't been re-written yet, so you would need to keep checking back.

You wouldn't need the set screw to keep the LED module in place. YOu would need it to keep the blade from flying out of your saber and hitting someone else. Also make sure you specify the right hole service for your activation switch.

Thanks for the input. Based on the LED color, Module and battery I have in my cart I sized the resistor to be a 2.7 ohm 1.3W resistor. The only one I found on the store that would work then was a 2.7 ohm 10W resistor. Is that a bit overkill ?

Overkill? Yes. The 10W resistors will take up a lot of room in your saber. But they will work just fine.

The math doesn't seem right to me. Not sure of led color but let's say blue. (3.7-3.4)/1 = 0.3. Round and you get 0.47ohm. Right?

I tried using the Resistor Calculator posted in the forums and got that value I reported by using the 3.7 V for the battery, 2 for the diode forward voltage for the red and looking at the Rebel Star LED & MHSV1 Heatsink Module for red it states all reds and amber should be ran at 700mA. So after imputing all those numbers in the calc I came up with "The wizard recommends a 1.3 Watt capable or greater 2.7 ohm resistor. The color code for 2.7 ohms is red violet gold." The only resistor I found on the site that complies with that was the 2.7 Ohm 10W resistor. Please someone correct me if I'm going about this the wrong way.

For red at 700mA 2.7ohm is correct. When I click on your wish list it doesn't say which color. A Cree red may afford you more space as they are 2.59v at 1000mA. That would be a 1.2ohm 3w. Just a thought.

I see a more basic problem. You need this (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/18650-Single-Cell-Holder-P886.aspx) to hold the battery, but the battery you've selected will not work with the holder. You need to use these (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/TrustFire-Protected-37V-2400mAh-18650-Lithium-Battery-2-pack-P517.aspx) instead.. The 3400mAh battery is just slightly longer than a standard 18650. The battery holder I linked to specifically notes that it will not work with that specific battery.

I went ahead and updated the battery and will just make it work I guess with the large resistor. Thanks guys for all the help !

You need the holder as well. The battery won't work without it. Here, watch this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOpUSCsXXhk). It shows someone using the speaker mount and battery holder.
