View Full Version : Wiring concerns for a Cross Guard Saber.

Hey. Quick question. It's been about 24 years since I last did any circuit design, so I'm really rusty, and I never worked with IC's when I was taking electronics in high school anyway. So, here's the question. If I want to build a cross guard saber, I know I'm going to have to wire the LED's in parallel. I also know that this is going to increase the Amperage in the circuit. Will this burn out a Nano Biscotti or a Petit Crouton with color extender? What would I need to know for this set up?

Assuming you were trying to use 3 High-Powered LEDs like the store's CREES at 1000mA each, that would indeed blow past the NB's limit of 2A.

Personally though, I don't see why you would need a full blown Blade-LED for the side blades, as they are significantly shorter and could probably light up nicely with other LEDs (that would not bring you up to the 2A limit).

But thats just my opinion, I haven't wired up a crossguard saber to be able to say for sure.
