hey Stoney, check out this site.....

http://www.toolhaus.org

you can check only negative feedback on an eBayer. its a pretty good tool. that seller has several negatives about size and quality against them.

well some people had some good things to say and some had some bad things. It's hard to tell. i was thinking of gettin one from spacecity costumes but the anakin is like $450, but it's probably worth it. you usually get what you pay for.

It's hard to tell what kind of quality you are getting with these sellers. The only way you are going to know is to sew it yourself or have someone you know do it. I can't hardly sew a button let alon a whole outfit. I have been looking on getting an jedi costume done but I just can't seem to find one with the look I like. these guys have robes that look pretty good.

I have one of MM's cotton-twill robes - I think it was in Umber, which they said was their darkest brown. I'm pretty well pleased with it in general, understanding that it is *NOT* a wool robe. I have a couple of nits to pick, I suppose - the cotton is VERY heavy-weight, and thus far hasn't broken in enough to flow as smoothly as I'd like, and the brown is warmer (lighter) than I'd expected, more a medium-brown than a dark. The construction is TOP-NOTCH, it was made and shipped VERY quickly, and I have zero reservations about recommending them to anyone else.

I have a grand total of ONE picture of the cloak online, apparently - http://imageevent.com/erictank/mycostumes/rebellegion?p=0&n=1&m=24&c=4&l=0&w=4&s=0&z=2

I think it looks kinda cheap :? If you are getting it for a good costume for a party or halloween then it is ok. But if you were going to try for the 501st??? well then I would not go with it. They will pick it apart :(

Not saying it is not ok looking. Just saying it is a Big NO when it comes to 501st standards. Not saying it has to be 501st quality. any one can get what they want to get for a costume. But if you want the best this is not it. I am just picky when it comes to my own costumes. :(

personally I think this one has a better look to it
http://www.kropserkel.com/asky.htm but it is your choice when it comes to something you wana have on 8)

Yeah, they are one where you have to contact them. Keeps them safe (or safer) from LFL that way.

Not cheap stuff there, but dang good quality.

The "full" maul costume with all the parts + robe, belt and boots and gloves made to fit, is under $920 The full costume with NO robe is under $700 for the Darth Maul. The Anakin is less then both of them. Just to give you an idea of the cost. But you can buy parts at a time. You do not need to get all of them at once

Scott and Brenda did a Maul costume for me about 5 years ago, for Halloween - and did an emergency mod when the belt ended up too short, getting it back to me in time for me to go out for the costume contests. I ended up joining the 501st Legion the following spring using that costume, though I don't do Maul anymore (I got tired of frightening small children to screaming and tears every single time I trooped, and you can't just take off a 2-hour makeup job to show the kid you aren't a monster). Another costuming site I can heartily recommend for price and quality (yeah, it's a little pricy - but it's worth every penny). They have some REALLY cool stuff on their site now, too.

NO. The 501st does not take your every day sith. The only Sith Lords are the big 4 + some E.U sith lords now.

Look it up... they take them. You are just not considered a cannon costume. You can only attend non-formal events with that costume.

I think that somone should make a maul mask worth purchasing.

cause putting on makeup all the time is a pain and having to remove it is a pain and who wants to wear a head skin.

robt666
02-22-2007, 11:52 AM
The 501st Does NOT Take in your everyday sith costume. You only can use it if you are a member and only if it is not a formal event. Only non 501st events can the fan made sith costume be used. Yu can not get membership with a basic sith costume no matter how good it looks. must be an aproved 501st costume or EU aproved costume.

Really? calm down man no need to get in a ruffel.

I know how the costuming thing goes and iam sure other that have a clue also do to.

But the fact of the matter is I saying that makeup sucks and a mask that worth buying would be better.

not trying to sound p1ssed. Just that the other guy said that they can get in and they can NOT. thats all, sorry  I have seen the rubies mask and the rubies skull caped used and they do not look very good. But I have seen some re-worked palpy masks and they kinda came out ok. and the 501st is not the be all end off of costumes. its just a group make what you can and what you want and have fun doing it. 8)

I know but the rules are the same no matter what scantioned costuming group your going to go with. TJA, TRL the 501'st and theres prolly a couple more.

The rules state that if you want to participate in scantioned bodys you have to portray someone in the films. and be as canon as possable.
