So, I was looking at the saber parts, and the hilts were a little short for my taste, so I decided that I'd use one of the longer extensions for the body of my hilt. Is there any downside to this? I know I'd have to drill my own switch hole, but other than that, is there anything wrong with that choice? Also, how come some of the parts are shown as several dollars cheaper in the store than the MHS builder?

You can drill your own hole, or you can add it as an extra service. No real downsides to using longer sections if that's what you want. Personally, I use smaller sections and connect them together. It gives easier access to things in the middle of the saber. Depending on how you construct your internals, it could be more or less difficult in a single long tube.

Thanks! I'm focusing on a new plan of mine for electronics and don't have a big budget for the body of the saber, so I can't buy cool stuff like chokes or multiple body pieces. I'm going with a Rahm Kota design.
