if you make the walls entirely out of duct tape then the led will probably blow because of the lack of heatsinking, and the blade will fall all the way through the hilt since there would be no blade holder

How would the blade fall all the way through the hilt if there was an LED in there? I suppose it would take everything else in the hilt with it.

This has to be one of the most impractical and ridiculous ideas for a lightsaber I have ever heard.

Why don't you wrap the duct tape around the cardboard from the center of a roll of paper towels? That might give it some rigidity. :wink:
