Hey Everyone!!

Before I even start I would like to thank everyone in this forum. Your advice and help for a noob like me was priceless. I took inspiation from Lukes "Hero", Obi, a little bit from Corran Horn and hopefully made something all my own. So without delay . . .

OBLITUS

Crystal Focus 7.5 w/ Color Extender
100% MHS
Quad Rebel DR/DR/G/RB
Quad 14500 7.4v li-ion Pack
2w Bass Speaker
Vaders Vault 36" Bullet Tip Blade w/ Shinethrough
Red Backlit Anti-Vandal Activation Switch
Momentary Aux Switch (Red)
External Box Mounted Recharge and R.I.C.E. Port
Powder Coat By Tim @ TCSS ... Customised By Me

I shaved down the blade stop a bit to accomodate the Quad Rebel and to increase the brightness. The LED was custom ordered as DR/G/DR/RB. It was my hope that having both DR's on opposite sides of the LED would better balance out the red in the blade. Jury is still out on that one until I can build another saber with reds in the usual side by side config. Good news is that it certainly did not hurt the brightness at all. I chose to go with the Sinkpad 2 option which had me drilling a hole through the heatsink to accomodate the wiring for the LED. The reds are wired in series. I also had a happy accident with the speaker holder. I was originally going to install a full chassis but the size of the battery and placement of the box made that a no go. The speaker holder was supposed to be a part of that chassis (a V5 from TCSS). Turns out if you sand the raised ridge part of that down just right you can press fit the entire holder in a large pommel. Still need to add the D-ring. Thats about it!!

Here is a Youtube video I posted ... hope everyone enjoys!!

Very nice. I'm surprised to see so many of the new people using CFs in their first builds.
I dig the color scheme a lot. I'm big into using brown/copper/brass type colors and your knurling really sets it off. Nice work with sanding the coating, too.

Oh, and welcome to the forums.

Awesome saber! I'm curious to know how difficult it was to sand the powder coating off like you did, and what kind of internal film wrapping your blade has.

Thanks for the welcome!! I figured I may as well start big!! I've been wanting a CF saber for years now and thanks to this forum and others plus YouTube and a whole lot of courage I was able to do it!!

Awesome saber! I'm curious to know how difficult it was to sand the powder coating off like you did, and what kind of internal film wrapping your blade has.

I used 220 grit folded into very small thin strips and by hand very carefully sanded. It was not very difficult but was very time consuming ... Took more patience than anything! I was always paranoid that I would slip and wind up scuffing a part that I didn't want to sand ... Luckily that didn't happen!! As far as the blade diffuser goes I am not sure what Vaders Vault uses. What I can tell you is that there is a significant amount of wraps in there ... Probably 20 or so layer wraps at my guess.

hand sanding?

damn, thats even more impressive... i'd have thought you'd have had a large dremel drum to take that coating off.

very impressive for a first build :D

Thanks!! A dremel is on it's way for my next build. Not for sanding however but more for shroud work and engraving:D
