Well, a week after receiving my parts from TCSS and Plecter Labs I have finished my first Saber...
Still might add some weathering.

Very nice. Simple lines, but not boring.

Cheers, still need to add my covertec knob, but there's not a lot of room left.
I'm a little nervous about drilling/tapping another hole, with not much space.
Had to cut & convert my V6 mount, missed the part in the description about the "ribbed" parts having a smaller ID than the female/female main section. Drilling the four holes by hand without a drill press and a 16mm drill bit was massive challenge....
Haven't used a soldering iron for 20 years so I'm a little proud of this, and my two daughters love it.

Nice work. I'm using the same switch plate, emitter, and pommel on mine haha I like the way the emitter and pommel accent each other.

Very nice. I like the elegance of it. :)

Thanks, I do like pommel 3v1&2, but they seemed too much for this combo.

Congrats on finishing your first! It's very clean and classic-looking.

Pommel 3v1 is actually pretty low-key. My second build is using that pommel and it looks pretty good without being as obtrusive as the v2 would be.

I finally had a crack at upgrading some features on my first saber,
Some paint, acid etching, custom killkey, and custom (homemade) chassis.
I'm still miles off building anything like some of the awesome sabers on here ,or whats in my mind, but this might inspire someone else who is like me with pretty much no tools or expertise.

I think it looks good on the belt and is rock solid for heavy dueling.

I've added a pic of my old chassis for comparison.

Nice work! Learning is a process, and the will to learn and flexibility of mind to improvise are more valuable than any tools.

You've done a great job! I like where you started, and where you've ended up! You've got a ton to show for your hard work. What made you choose those designs for your etching?

Thanks Mate,
I felt I had to include a "Star Wars" symbol on my first build, hence the Jedi symbol, the lower front has a Cross at its core, which is important to me, and the design around the back is just some tattoo art I like, maybe some Maori influence there.
I took a small risk, because all the etching was done while saber was all together, electronics included.!!!

Cool stuff! I'm glad it came out okay; that's definitely a risky move.
