Hi all. Finished my first build today, with some last minute help from Forgetful Jedi Knight, thanks! The hilt is mostly powder coated, except the blade holder and pommel vent are black anodized. I'm a paint shop supervisor for an aerospace company and 20 year painter, so access to all kinds of coatings is not really a problem =)
It's got a NB,Pex, tri-cree BBW, recharge port, and a white ring AV switch. Also I tried out a 3D printed chassis, worked out nicely. And never mind the singed green wires, might replace that hehe :D
Also there's a bit of T8 plastic tube that site over the exposed half of the chassis nice and neat, didnt photograph it though.
*edit*

The only bit I didnt figure out till it was too late, was that the AV led is always on when the kill key is pulled.
I *think* I can fix that for next time ( inline with main led +, before the resistor?) , but was too much tearing down for this one.
Here it is. Anyone help me think of a good name?
Thanks for looking.

Thanks everyone! I really like the name Obsidian, but it's also the name of some other guy's soundboard and we all know it =)
Keeping in that same thought, my wife came up with it... Onyx!
Thank you to everyone here for their expertise and encouragement to build my own sabers, it's a lot of fun.

Nice build, simple yet elegant.

Reminds me of something a stealth assassin would carry. So give it a name like Akuma(demon) or Shadoukirā(shadow killer).

Nice. I like the edgy look of the saber =]

Very nice piece. What it reminds me a bit of, especially with the blade holder you have is some of the obsidian arrow heads I've seen over the years, so how about "Obsidian"?

I'll suggest "Luther". Why, you may ask? "Don't honk me off, or you'll have to deal with Luther." Vincenzo also would work.
I don't typically suggest names that sound mythic. Enh, not my style...

I really like that chassis. Is it 3d printed and if so did you model it or find it elsewhere. I'm looking at getting a 3d printer in the near future.

There are several chassis models on Shapeways that you can print for different combinations of different boards, if I remember right.
