Hi all. Just finishing up my first build with sound!
Using a NB with PeX, recharge port and a Tri-Cree BBW. Everything else seems to work, boot sounds and 2 blues come on fine. Also swings are fine.
But when I bump the board for Foc it kills power and I get the boot sound again. Per Madcow's video I have no resistor on the white ( foc ) led, is this ok? He said the circuit can handle the voltage.
I must have missed something, but I'm over-thinking it and can't quite figure it out. Where to start?
Thanks!

*Sighs* You should have a resistor on the White FoC. I'm hoping you are using a 18650 cell?

Yes I'm using an 18650. Ok need a resistor then :) should I put one inline, or use an smd on the pex?
Does it matter either way? Whichever way I go, can you recommend which I would use?
Thank you FJK

I do have a .5 ohm 3w resistor extra, same as I used to resist the blues. That work?

That should work. You can put it inline with the (+) wire.

Ok I put the resistor inline on the +. The white is still not coming on, but the clash sounds play now instead of killing power.
While I was putting in the resistor I checked the white led with a battery pack and its fine.
Could it be a bad solder joint on the pex?

Hmm I remember reading that if you use an external resistor, you have to bridge the positives on the pex. Is that right or way off?

Only if you attach the (+) wires to it. if you bypass the (+) pads on the PEX, then it's not a problem. ;)

Working now, thanks very much! =)
