You know how Yoda's hilt despite it's small size, lack of detail, and simplicity is one of the coolest of the jedi hilts, but whenever you try to build one to scale it's too small for all but children's hands and when you stretch the design to make it bigger it looses it's looks. When stretched it doesn't have the stoutness or the boldness I imagine there are atleast a few of you who have looked at this problem on art programs tinkering with a picture of Yodas' hilt but came up empty or only used Yoda hilts for display rather than play. I figured out a simple way to make a hilt that has Yodas' looks (his hilts' looks not his looks  ) and convienant size
you simply add one more grip section to the other side of the switch clamp extending the hilt a few more precious inches.

Why is this in the mhs forum?

Actually I think a hilt with Yoda's looks would be pretty cool too.

You can make that out of a sinktube, the grips would be cut pices of painted pvc, the clamp iam not sure of I havent actually seen a goo dpic of it yet. and the rest is rut the sinktube out to whatever.

Parks sabers has one of those flash lamp clamps but I don't think the clamp portion is thick enough to look qite right.

Parks one isn't even close. I'm not fan of an oversized Yoda. Too plain. When it's small it works.

Thats really not a good pic, I dont seen any detail except for the top of the clamp where the button sits.

MR is making a yoda, but as i would imagine MR, the hilt will be way too oversized and it wont look good, so the younger ones cant hold it and you cant hold it either.

I think MR should just stop cause there not doing a very good job, when my brother got his mr vader I was kinda dissapointed with it. its fricking huge.

i personally prefer the luke out of all of them because it is just easier to handle.

Unless you got the Vader ANH, the ESB is almost perfectly in size. It's off by like 1/16" in thickness and not too much more than that in height.

the prob with those two is that the switchbox is to big, and hurts your fingers when you duel.

Ya but I think when they made them they didn't go for eas of use, they didn't use them much for dueling in the movies (well 4,5 and 6). mostly for show.

Simple solution... keep your fingers away from them. :P

Seriously, when I duel one-handed I hold it at top. The second hand would go below with plenty of room.

Vortex, ease of use never came into play... just like with the yoda. The yoda was never actually used in the movie. It was CG. On the Vader they just kept what was on the MPP. All they did was add grips.

ya that's what I meant if I didn't write that. I havn't had any problems with my vader.

I just made a 7.5" long yoda and posted it in the gallery. It is stretched a little bit, but not horribly much. I found a way you could comfortably hold it for a duel, but you wouldn't want a blade any longer than 30".

this is a yoda the hilt actual size by the prints off the darkside blueprints.

i found a real flash, not the one you would use, but a different one that had the similar features and same size.

i have a solid acrylic blade stuck in it. it soesnt have the lambo wheel emitter, and the knob is a bit too big. i fabbed the midband from a pvc pipe that fit perfectly on hilt. and used a 2 part epoxy putty to make the oil pan part from. rough shape. dry, then sanded it to shape.

Ok guys you didn't like my last attempt to make a full sized yoda so tell me what do you think of this model.

The emitter certainly looks very nice, kudos! The ribbed section looks too long for that scale tho. Personaly (and feel free to dissagree) I'd push the black clamp thing up towards the emitter an inch or so and have longer grips.

I don't like it as a stand in or replacement for Yoda's, but as a standalone design I think is pretty friggin' cool.

i agree with fisto. it looks cool by itself but not as a yoda replica. the ribs do absolutely nothing for me

Man we all have different tastes the ribbed section is one of favorite parts lol and I did kindof mean for this design to be a Yoda/Luke inspired hilt rather than a Yoda/Luke replacement or substitute.

I waiting for you to do a New Obi/Old Obi/Vader/Luke ROTJ/Anakin ROTS/Mace ROTS/Kit Fisto combo. That would be interesting. But, you cant sue me for copyright if I try to build it....haha.

I can only combine about 2 designs maximum when blending favorite hilt designs anymore than that and it will start to look gaudi notice how clean my Yoda/Luke is I didn't make it with to many different pieces but I will take your suggestion and make a big collection of design mixing hilts like my Yoda/Luke.
