Is a darth maul used saber worth $30.00? It takes 3 AA batteies so I think it is a newer release.

Depends on how used. If it's utterly trashed... probably. You can always use the hilt.

If it's got sound, yes. That's a deal.

Is this a full or the "battle damaged". If it's the full then the deal is a lot better.

Also, yup the Maul is a recent release. Battery configurations are not always the best way to decide that but in this case it's correct.

actually it takes 3AAA
really? could have swore it said 3 AA.

any way the lights and sounds are perfect but just a little used on the hilt. comes with original box and packaging. the only thing they said was really wrong with it was the connector piece was missing. got it for 30 bucks. I also got a used luke ep VI for 33, some led's don't light up and the battery liner was loose. But I figure If nothing else I can convert them to led. Assuming Tim has a kit for the maul yet. (Havn't looked)

there isnt a kit yet for either the maul or luke, but its not too hard to convert either and ive got tim workin on a luke conversion for the store... should be ready some time after xmas, on the luke the battery slip isnt really a necessary part as long as the terminals still seat right to the sound module. i havent done a maul yet so i cant give ya any help there... i think it was jtsteph that had one up and converted as soon as it was released

countdown, does the sound module fit right behind the blade retainer in the maul as it does the luke/mace, or is it back in the hilt like with your ani/vader?

its like the vader sabers. except everything is smaller. the sound board, and the saber itself. it added for a cool look but it wasnt as long as the original maul

are they even making an yoda? I thought I read somewhere that there would not be enough room for the electronics.

The yoda saber is in fact the only one for sure they have in production for 2007. There was a prototype at the NY toy fair.

Getting to actual correct size and lighting it up is difficult. Only time will tell how well MR pulls it off.

a qui gon would be pretty awesome, but for now your best bet will be buy a sound module from tim when he gets them listed in the store and do a sink tube hilt, there are quite a few members who have built it and can help you out with the design

i will have to look around for a sink tube design.

xwing did one. he was gonna do an overlay but he got to lazy so he just painted it to look like qui-gon's :(

That paint has been pretty dang durable. I wasn't lazy either. The sink tube was warping so much after the cutting that it wouldn't slide on well.

In frustration I said "!%$%!$ it" and went with paint. :D I think he's refering to Tet's color changing paint though.
