I found at my local Goodwill a Battle Droid-esque silly string Blaster and decided to buy it to convert to light and sound since it is mostly hollow. I did some research and decided to use Erv's BlasterCore soundboard as it has some pretty great features, and is designed specifically for use in a firearm-form factor prop (I realized halfway through my build that Erv had actually done a conversion with the same type of Blaster previously). I sourced most of the other parts from TCSS except for the 5 and 3mm LEDs, a couple switches, and my laser module (from the beginning I had wanted to include a laser sight on this conversion, as I like the one on my personal firearm so much, and thought it would go well with this blaster in particular). So without further ado, here are some pictures! (Be warned, I used a lot more hot glue than needed to hold things on the inside in place, but I wanted to make sure nothing would move at all)

Here is the side-view of the front end of the Blaster, you can see the latching switch for the full-auto mode and the related indicator LED:

Moving down the side we have the momentary aux switch and the panel of accent LEDs (in the middle of their scrolling animation in the first pic, showing "Full Ammo" in the second):

And just a quick look at the other side, you can see the recharge port in the base of the grip, and the laser sight's momentary switch further up, opposite to the aux switch on the other side:

In the very front you can see the Tri-Rebel at the tip of the barrel and the laser mounted up above it:

Opening up the barrel you can see the 5mm LEDs used for the barrel flash, and the Premium speaker located right at the base of the barrel:

Inside the grip you can see the 7.4V li-ion pack and the recharge port wired to it:

Wires leading to the accent LEDs and the aux switch, made long enough so that I can lay the two haves of the saber down next to each other when I open it up:

Wiring going up to the laser module, and back to the indicator LED wired in parallel to the laser so I can tell at a glance when it is on. You can see the top of the BlasterCore in this picture as well (again, too much hot glue warning):

Lastly, we have the laser button acting as a stopper to keep the trigger from going too far forward after I removed the part that used to press the on silly string canister. I was however able to re-use some of the internal trigger mechanism to hit the momentary switch wired up as the trigger:

Also, a quick video of the blasts on regular and stun mode (still have not quite figured out the timing of syncing the stun blast with the sound, but working on it):

Thanks guys!

Personally, I'm just really proud of where I was able to utilize already-existing details on the body to hide the modifications. Like the Full-Auto indicator LED in the decorative "screw head", the Aux button popping up out of the cone-shaped greebly, and the laser module up on the sight ... love that laser sight!
