Morning all!

I recently got hold of a Luke Skywalker lightsaber on ebay. Pulled it apart, found everything pretty much as described on the tutorials, so I was pretty happy. Until I discovered that the momentary switch is built onto the board itself, along with one of the sensors (swing, I think, though I really don't care, since I wasn't going to move it anyway).

So I was wondering if anyone has a solution for either removing the switch (preferable, since I want to put in a better one), or installing a switch cover onto the hilt so it works. I was planning on using part of the blade tube as a sleeve for the card, so I guess any solution would have to take that into consideration.

Here are some pictures of the card in question. I'm not sure what year it was, since it was an ebay purchase and not in the original packaging. Sorry for the poor quality; I was using my phone to take the pictures.

Thanks for any and all help!

The sensor on the board is the "clash" sensor. IIRC the blue wires go to the swing sensor. You can add an external momentary switch using the sw1 holes.

Thanks, BZWingZero! I'm assuming that the external switch will bypass the switch on the card? Looking at the card, it appears that SW1 has a positive and negative hole. Being that I'm putting in a switch, does it matter which pole on the switch I connect to each hole?

The switches don't have a positive and negative, so it doesn't matter which you use and it will bypass the one built into the card.
