I just went through my hasbro stash... a lot more dead boards than I'd thought. :?

I actually only have one working... and it's my grail, an old vader.

Enough of that, has anyone done anything creative with the fried boards? I cut off all of the sensors, but aside from that I'm not sure. Fake decoration for the insides of a saber?

I'm thinking interchangeable guts to make it pristine to a saber that had a power melt down. Or a maybe static clear version of a saber... Ideas?

Why not use one of them in a cut-away version of a saber?

Use them for wiring diagrams, decorations(as said above) take all the chips off them so you have the boards by them selves and glue them goreather on a thin pice of wood and make a table top with it.

can you post a pic of what both sides of an Anakin/Vader sound board is supposed to look like? I had an accident involving a hot soldering iron and a few of the surface-mount components got slid to one side. I do not want to fry it by experimentation...

I was referring to hasbro boards... and I think you mean an MR.

I can do it either way... just let me know.

Keep the ideas coming people. I was thinking along the clear/cut away path, but maybe someone will suggest something even neater. I don't have a christmas tree right now so that one is unfeasible.

well if you have enough boards you could glue them together to make a christams tree.

How did you kill them? Burning them out or with a hammer?

Depends on the board... Some of the older ones I found out don't like excessive voltage at all. Others like the first I messed with was used so many time eventually it just gave out.

It's not that many... maybe seven or eight boards.

you could always use them as decoration for a battle damaged saber. you know, dremel a hole in the tube, blacken it up and make it look like the saber was cut into with electronics showing...

It'd be pretty cool to do a model of Darth Maul's that actually looks like it's been cut in half, instead of just having a nice, clean separation like the "battle damaged" MR.

I was referring to the red/blue color changing anakin/vader hasbro lightsaber.

By the way, does anybody know where I can get JUST the sound board for a lightsaber?
