Hi!
I've been reading a lot on the forum for the last year before I decided to commit.
So I'm (slowly..) building my first saber, and in my next order from the shop, I should receive a tri-cree rgb led.
I plan to color code the wires to help me, but how can I identify each color before soldering?
Since I don't have a bench power supply, can I use a 1.5v alkaline to test each die?
Will it work and is it safe?
Or I'm asking myself too many questions and the answer is written on the thing.. ;)

same issue what I did was use to triple A batteries and aome wire. The red is fairly obvious jt looks redish. The blue and green are rated to 3.4v so hook the batteries in series and with wires touch them to one of the dioeds leads and it will light up. Just don't look at it dirrectly. Mine was with the red closest to you the green was on the left blue on right. But they might be different.

Green. Blue

.......Red

Laid out like this mine was

A pair of alkalines will work, but don't look directly at the die. I have a multimeter with a diode test setting. It gives just enough juice to check the color.

Thanks! Can't wait to the day I'll finally see and ear my first build fire-up!
