Sith Acolyte Armour

Has anyone got or know when i can get some pepakura files or templates for Acolyte armour? I know about firefek's files and while they are great i cannot afford 36 quid just for the files when that price would cover all my material costs

So i got my robe made and the helm is looking great, was time to test it for length and fit, and with the shoulder armour on under the robe it sits nicely barely touching the floor, i may add more padding to the shoulders to raise the robe further off the floor to be more convention friendly but apart from that its coming along great. Most of the armour plating is done and just needs the paint putting on, but trying to make foam look like metal is very, VERY time consuming so lots of fun there :D1148111482

And for the saber i wanted i aggressive looking hilt so this is what im planning, the switch will be in the grenade section as i will be making a sleeve to go over it and still show some of it through. I will be using a red perspex blade, and will be a string blade, im not sure what resistors will be needed i only know that ive seen how the ladders for the led's are made and know that i have the skills to make it..... getting it to work with a NB V2 however im not sure as this will be my first saber but my soldering skills are high. 11483

So i finally got my costume to a good enough point that i can use it, the chest plate will probably be re-made as it should come down to were my ribcage ends and then i need something to go between the chest and cod, unfortunately my blade didn't arrive in time so just had a hilt, not that it really matters because i need the CF 7.5 before i can get to work on it :/ 1184211843118441184511846

I'd say the first thing is to do is research which material fits your project, your budget and your available tools. There have been a number of cosplayers that have done comparisons of Sintra, Worbla, EVA foam, etc. Once you figure that out, start looking into tutorials on using that material.

There are many guides i used to build my knowledge base up, this was made of EVA foam but i had never used it before so lots of google and a little trial and error was all it took, when the armour is done get some rubber spray paint, i think its branded as plasti-dip in the USA it helps to make the foam look smoother and less foam-like. Oh and superglue.... superglue is great for neat assembly and hot glue to reinforce the inside of joins

As for the overall look of the costume, i would say spend the most on a good robe... at the convention were these pics were took there were some sith and jedi that would have been great costumes but the robes were obviously poorly made and cheap and ruined the overall standard of the rest.

I know not everyone can justify getting a robe custom made but honestly i would say save your money for a higher quality item as a cheap one will pull down the rest of the costume
