Any reason why I couldn't do this? (RICE port grounding)

Any reason why I couldn't do this? Instead of running the RICE port GND to battery negative, I run it power jack negative. (Not the power jack switch negative that runs to the PC board negative pad, but the power jack negative that itself runs to battery negative for recharging the battery.)

I can't see any issue with it, and it would save a little space. However, I want to run it by an experienced builder first.
