PVC Chassis Recharge Port Mounting

I have a TCSS recharge port that I am installing in a custom PVC chassis I have made.

Has anyone else used this method, and if so did you bother "tapping" the chassis so the port would "screw into" the chassis itself, or did you just drill a hole through the chassis so the plug would fit through and then attach the port to the chassis in a different way?

I've done both. It really depends on how much space you have inside, and how well your recharger plug will fit. I like to tap the hole and thread in the recharge port from the inside when I can.
