building a friend a blade as a gift and i have extra parts, im not sure if im missing anything
here is what i have:

-all parts for the outer hilt (body, pomel, blade, emiter, etc etc)

-here are my electrical parts, if i connect these together would they work? i dont want to "fry" anything if i need additional
resistors or components

ohh, just to be clear, im looking for the blade to light up (blade AND switch to light up) when you press the switch down.

Those parts can't be connected directly without a few modifications. If you want everything to just plug together, you can get either the MWS buckpuck, OR you can switch to a MWS momentary switch and get the prewired momentary-to-latching converter.

You can hook those parts together, along with a resistor on the main LED, but you'll need some extra wire and a soldering iron.

If you choose the buckpuck, you will need to be sure your battery pack is at least 5v. You'll have to use 4 alkalines in that holder. NiMH will not work.
If you go with the momentary and the converter, you will need a resistor for your main LED. Use Ohm's law or the resistor calculator in my signature to find an appropriate value for your LED. The LED specs can be found here: http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Luxeon-Rebel-Star-P523.aspx

Also, it is not necessary to make the same post in multiple locations. Don't worry, we'll see it.

sorry about the double thread. ok i think the BuckPuck sounds like the route i want to go with.

does this look like an acurate way to hook everyhting up? im just a little confused on the switch part of it all, the switch has 2 black and 2 red wires comming off it (2 for the switch/2 for the led) so im not exactly sure where to hook them up.

Yes, that will work. If you look at the switch, one of the sets of wires has a small black device inline (DynaOhm resistor) on a red wire. Those control the switch LED. Plug that set into the AA you listed on your diagram. The other set of wires is for the switch mechanism itself. That set goes to the SW on your diagram.

Since the prewired switch has the DynaOhm, you will need to insert a jumper wire connecting the two ARES terminals on the BuckPuck. No soldering needed, a small piece of wire will do the job fine.

ahh ok, thank you for clearing that up.
for the wire that connects the 2 ARES terminals, is there a spacific color wire i should use?

i also see an option for 1000 mA and 700 mA do you know what that means?

Any color wire will do the job. The BuckPuck won't care. :)

I do. If you go to the Rebel page in the store http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Luxeon-Rebel-Star-P523.aspx , it will tell you which colors need to be run at 700mA and which need to be run at 1000mA. Generally speaking, the warm colored Rebels (red, deep red, etc) run at 700mA, while the cool colors (green, blue, etc) run at 1000mA.
