How does the Quick change LED kit work?

Did you check out the MHS tutorial? It's just a quick disconnect wire and a new LED heatsink.

i use the quick change led/heatsink kit in my custom mr conversions, tims conversion kits have the same heatsink with holes drilled to attach them to his specific conversion kit. the kit itself will work in nearly any application you can imagine

true, but to change it out you need to take the whole saber apart on a MR. it is best used on the MHS system

i dont pull the mr sabers apart once ive converted them, but you dont have to pull it completely apart to get at the led

Does it have to be used with MHS?

If you want to be able to change LEDs, yes.

If you want to just keep your saber one color, no.

If you change your mind about only having one color and want to be able to change the LED, it's not hard to take out the LED kit from an MHS hilt and retrofit it with the quick change kit later.

even with the mr sabers if you want to be able to quick swap your colors cut the wire about an inch from one plug end and solder that to your led and the other end to your wire harness and youve got plenty of room to pull your led by removing the blade holder from the end of the saber
