Hi,

I planned to make Zannah's saber half a year ago and now it's finally the time to make this costume/project real.

My plan:
Doing the double-saber
AND
make it possible to separate them into 2 working sabers.
Quite complex for a absolute newbie...but shipping oversee is quite expensive so I want to put as much option as possible into one order.

Step 7:
Tools you MUST have to do this project include:
Soldering Iron; Heatshrink, PPE *mum is working at an electronic company*
Drill and tap set; Tap handle *I'm working at a machine engineering company*

Okay this might NOT be the best idea.. having such a big list for the first saber(s)... :D

Since there are definitelly tons of things I forget feel free to correct me :)

You're on the right track, but let me make a few corrections:

1. You won't need the thermal tape pad if you're getting the Rebel LED/Heatsink module. The module already includes one.
2. You need a latching switch for your setup, not a momentary. You can either get a different switch, or get the momentary-to-latching converter. http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Momentary-to-latching-converter-25-70v-P928.aspx
3. The switch type you've selected is a "Standard" type, for the purposes of the hole in your main hilt body. That switch does come in latching and momentary versions.
4. I would honestly get rid of the BuckPuck on your setup, or else get two.

The BuckPuck requires a minimum of 5v to operate correctly. If you're using alkaline batteries, you will need 4 of them (the 4xAA holder) for EACH BuckPuck. If you'd like to save some space and weight, consider using the 2xAA holder and a resistor. The Rebel Deep Red runs at 2.4v @ 700mA. A 3v alkaline pack will run that without trouble. Check the resistor calculator in my signature for an appropriate resistor. However, there is a better solution...

Li-ion batteries will give you a MUCH better runtime per charge, weigh less, and are rechargeable. A single 18650 li-ion is 3.7v, and can power one of your sabers for 2-3 hours (or more) before you need to recharge. The alkalines will need to be replaced after an hour or so. The downside is that you are not in the US. You'll either have to locate li-ions locally, or send an email to Tim (sales@thecustomsabershop.com) for information about international shipping of li-ion cells.
