Star/O problem, maybe.....

So, I ordered a Star/O LED from a local company quite some time ago, but have yet to actually test it, as there is no indication as to + and - leads. Is there a safe way to test it? Are there + and - specific lead attachment points?

The only clue I may have, is a small gold dot beside 1 lead point. Would that perhaps be the + point?

i only used one star/o, but i think the dot was the +. it doesn't matter if you touch the wrong wires to the leads, if it's wrong the star simply won't light up. it won't hurt it.
