Could someone explain what the difference between a SPST and SPDT is? I looked at the Saber Buildind Dictionary, so I know what the acronyms stand for, but I'm not sure what the term means.

Single pole single throw has 2 poles(connection) when you move the switch either connects them or disconnects them.
single pole double throw has three poles. One pole is common and will have continuity with one of the other 2 poles depending on the position of the switch.

A single throw is like a light switch - on/off
a double throw can be two separate circuits, when one is closed, the other is open.
A hair dryer is a good example.
It has a SPST switch to turn it on/off and a SPDT to select warm/hot air
You can use a SPDT in a saber like a single throw by not connecting a second circuit to the other side.
