Iv been working with some concepts for a better designed Obi-wan or Luke saber and I like what I have with this one.

As you can see the neck is thinner but still has room for led and optics. I have it so that the emmiter and the brown part of the neck unscrew from the rest so that you can put the heatsink and LED in and the optics in the brown part. Now I havnt gotten the measurements for each part of this saber but the emmiter might be a tad longer and the neck might be a bit thicker for more strength. Other than that, what do you think? How well do you think it would work? What still needs improvements?

wow man, great ideas on the led/heatsink stuff! looks good, you just need a suitable color for the gold part on the neck

Tim machined the middle section for me to hold the heat sink and give it that "Obi-wan" look that I wanted for my personal saber.

He does fantastic work doesn't he?

Wow, thats really cool. Its kinda what im looking for except, Im having the entire hilt custom machined. Im starting to the think it would be best to have the booster removable, that way I could use a graflex clamp. It will be like a ROTS/ANH hybrid. :P

Zhi-don where did you get the large main grooved hilt from? That looks great

It would all be custom work by Tim.

Actually Tim did me a great favor. That main section was his prototype for what became the MHS standard. This earlier version was too long, so he didn't use it. But it was fine for what I wanted. He machined it for me and then drilled a new mounting hole for the switch.

The heat sink and LED now mount well ahead of the main section, allowing room for the switch in the location I wanted.

Thanks again, Tim!
